In Brazil, Tectoy released several licensed variations; the Master System Super Compact functions wirelessly with an RF transmitter, and the Master System Girl, molded in bright pink plastic, was targeted at girls. Please note that there are currently restrictions in place for shipments to Russia for items items over 2KG.

To accomplish this, Sega of America was established in 1986 to manage the company's consumer products in North America. For a system from the mid 80’s, I think it performs remarkably well compared to what is essentially a 90s 16 bit behemoth. The Master System [c] is an 8-bit third-generation home video game console manufactured and developed by Sega. Console em produção há mais tempo, Master System já vendeu 8 mi no Brasil" [Console in production for a longer time, Master System has sold 8 million in Brazil]. The Master System version of R-Type was praised for its visuals, comparable to those of the TurboGrafx-16 port.

The thinking at Sega behind the deal was to leverage Tonka's knowledge of the American toy market, since Nintendo had marketed the NES as a toy to great success in the region. The main unit, commonly referred to as the "Power Base" is a black 3D trapezium with red/orange highlights, measuring 14 3/ 8 inches in width, 6 5/ 8 inches deep and 2 3/ 4 inches in height. The original Mega Drive pack in title (well done Sega for changing it to Sonic); it’s a reasonable effort at an arcade port. Once I get better with an oscilloscope (and also probably a better oscilloscope), I might take a look at the sync signal to see what’s going on with the OSSC.However, it attained significantly greater success in other markets, including Europe, Brazil, South Korea and Australia. Putting that expertise to good use, we decided to start RetroSix; a small team of people passionate about retro gaming, and restoring original consoles to like-new, adding our own twist and style to them and in general bringing a modern twist to retro. The Mega Drive version scrolls smoothly, it has a bucket load of on screen sprites and the backgrounds are visually detailed. However, it’s also worth noting that there were various master system releases which never made it to the Mega drive. Games for the Master System took advantage of more advanced hardware compared to the NES; Alex Kidd in Miracle World, for example, showcases "blistering colors and more detailed sprites" than NES games.

I took a quick screenshot and confirmed that this does work for me, though I had to increase it a notable bit for the picture to be stable, and I’m not sure what impact this might have on other consoles. I only have US and Japanese Master System 1s, and while their signals are different from each other, neither requires additional amplification of the RGB signal as far as I know, and both have video amplifiers on-board.Now I consider this quite a late game even in the Mega Drive‘s life, but for it to come out on the Master System as well was an absolute mind blower to me. I remember playing this game on my friends Mega Drive, on 2 player mode and falling in love with it’s simple but effective gameplay. Also having 2 buttons is somewhat limiting, BUT, it’s still immensely playable, and looks beautiful.
