Description

There's been interest in how much the Torpedo Ink series will include characters from the Drake Sisters or Sea Haven series so I thought I'd talk a little bit about that over on Goodreads Torpedo Ink Isn't in Sea Haven, But it's Close Seychelle shines! She holds her ground and is determined to not be used, be placed second, or left in the dark! Her strength, her power of observation and intuition bring to light dangers Torpedo Ink might have missed or taken longer to discover because they assumed other things. She is truly gifted and gives freely to help others even when she isn’t happy with them. She will give all she can to Savage but will not lose who she is to do so, again showing she is absolutely the woman he needs, a woman to hold her ground and say when. I love how her observations, her openness and the communication they share opens his eyes to himself and to members of his club. That they do hide behind the “it’s club business” instead of taking a step to move into their new normal. He had to be right for her. He might be rough and too controlling, but he would move the world for her, if she needed it moved. The Summary Savage closed his eyes against the sight of her bruised, swollen face. Her tears. She wept, but silently. He wasn’t positive she knew her tears were there, but he did—and that was so dangerous when she was with a man with cravings and addictions like him.

Savage knows that what he really needs could break his woman if she isn't ready. She agreed to come into his world, and he's not about to give her up. He has to find a way to let her see the monster inside without pushing her away. But the real Savage might be more than Seychelle can bear... and he knows he wouldn't survive losing her.His gaze met hers. Those damn eyes. So blue. Seeing too much. One eye was very bruised. She was going to have a hell of a shiner. It was already coming up, dark purple and swollen. I've since read that Annihilation Road was written to be a stand alone story for this couple where they're falling in love, and that Savage Road is the one that really delved into the issues that Savage has, and how they work as a couple as he's dealing with that. And that makes total sense, and I'm really glad that their story wasn't condensed into one book, they really needed that breathing space!

Seychelle Dubois has spent her entire life not feeling much of anything, until Savage comes along sets her whole body on fire. Kissing him had been a mistake. Letting him get close would be a catastrophe. He's the most beautiful—and damaged—man she's ever met. He has a way of getting under her skin, and what he's offering is too tempting to resist. If he was any kind of decent man, he’d wince at the damage, but instead, he touched the scrape marks gently with the pad of his finger. They were badges of courage. She’d done what no one else had done. She’d risked her life to save him—to save the kid. Those raw scrapes and that hellacious egg were suffered to save him. She’d made that choice. He couldn’t help but think those lacerations, bruises and bumps said quite a lot about her. Savage Road is the second and final book in Seychelle and Savage’s story. It took two books (Annihilation and Savage Road) to show the intense and complex story of Savin “Savage” Pajarin’s deeply wounded life. There were bruises and scrapes on her face. One cheek was swollen. The bump on her head just above her eye was enormous. Her arm was bandaged in places and what he could see of her leg, it was as well. He couldn’t help himself, he touched one of the scrape marks near the giant goose egg. “Looks like it hurts.” Are you going to tell me your name?” Seychelle asked, her blue eyes drifting over his face, touching on the scars there, on his jaw and the light growth of beard and mustache. You need to stop moving around, Seychelle. Just lay still.” He made it a command. When he told others what to do, they tended to obey him. Her gaze moved over his face almost as if she found his tone amusing, but she didn’t attempt to move again. Please tell her thank you from me as well. If you think she needs anything, let me know. I don’t like to think she’s alone in the world and needs help after saving one of ours.”

Success!

Savage was tempted to tell him he did, but he had no idea why, so he shook his head and kept going over his bike. He took his time heading to Caspar. He even looked at the sign as he went on past. Shit. There was no hope for him what-so-ever. He kept going, though. Even knowing he was acting like a moron, he kept going. He drove straight to the hospital and parked his bike, sliding off to stand in front of the doors for a few minutes, pretending to himself that he was debating about whether or not to go in.
