Hike down to Six Glaciers Tea House: This tea house is not as remotely crowded as Lake Agnes, but boy was the view stunning! You know that mountain that you see off in the distance on Lake Louise with all the glaciers? Well, this trail brings you even closer to those mountains. It is pretty impressive. You could then head just 20 minutes up the road to explore Moraine Lake, whose natural beauty also draws in visitors. Its water is even more vivid, pooled at the foot of huge, steeply rising mountains. You can absolutely admire these animals from a distance (and even go on a special tour to see them!). But whatever you do, KEEP A SAFE DISTANCE and DO NOT FEED ANY ANIMALS. This is their home and we need to respect and protect them.

Stove: Love this stove that we got for Christmas. Don’t forget to buy propane. (Note: Do not bring this on a plane with you, as it can get confiscated). >Buy Stove Here This is another trail which flies under the radar, so you can expect to have the trail to yourself for large periods, as you walk past vibrant meadows and look out at the Cheops and Grizzly Mountain, as well as over to Cougar and Bagheera mountains, which sit to the west, and across the Bonney Range. It’s mainly used though as a gateway for enjoying the park’s outdoor activities, from hiking, canoeing and white-water rafting along the Athabasca River, to taking a guided motorcycle ride in a Harley-Davidson sidecar. Sleeping Bag: One of the most critical aspects of getting a good nights sleep! Bringing a sleeping bag is a must. >Look At Prices Drive up to Mount Norquay Lookout:The lookout is a great way to see the City of Banff from above. You can even see the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.Oregon Trail Interpretive Center". Archived from the original on March 4, 2016 . Retrieved April 15, 2012. The blessing and the curse of Banff is that there are SO many places you can stay. And making a decision on where to stay in Banff can be a little overwhelming. So, here are my recommendations for a few popular places to stay (or you can read this post for the full list, from luxury lodges to budget hostels):

Take the Gondola up Whistlers Mountain and hike up to Whistlers peak: Whislers Mountain should be on everyone’s itinerary because the 360-degree views are unbelievable. Make sure to hike up to the summit for even more spectacular ever changing views. It is possible to rent everything and campervans usually have cooking sets included, but that's something you surely should not forget. HIKING GEAR Eat at The Johnston Canyon Resort:We ate here following the long hike. They had a lovely patio to enjoy the beautiful day. The food was okay, but you are pretty limited on restaurants in this area. This itinerary travels in the region of 3,000km. This information is important as you have to prepay for your kilometers if you rent a campervan. We talk about Peyto Lake, Athabasca Glacier, Bow Lake, Parker Ridge Trail, Athabasca Falls, or Sunwapta Falls, but there are many more places you should try to squeeze in your day. JASPER NATIONAL PARK The drive to Yoho, your next stop, takes 3.5-4 hours, and since you’ve already made your stops on the Icefields Parkway, you can drive it straight. However, I’d plan to leave Jasper no later than 2 PM to make sure you have plenty of daylight to drive all the way to Yoho.

How much in advance? Well, if you plan your trip for the summer season, start creating your itinerary about nine to six months before departure because only this way can you figure out where to stay. No matter which option you go for, you should plan your bookings based on your time of travel. For example, you will find it (very) challenging to get your preferred lodgings upon arrival if you’re traveling between July and September. May and June can be a good time for traveling; there will be considerably fewer people, but the weather can still be cold and some trails closed because of the snow. Canadian Pacific Railway". Archived from the original on November 20, 2012 . Retrieved April 15, 2012. There are plenty of incredible places such as Marble Canyon, Sinclair Canyon, Paint Pots, Stanley Glacier or Numa Falls.

Lesser-known highlights of the Canadian Rockies

Accommodation in July and August is really expensive and hard to secure, so make sure to make all your reservations way in advance. SHOULDER SEASON

Take pictures at Banff Surprise Corner: I loved this spot! The views of the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is incredible. No matter what kind of accommodation you prefer, you must know one thing. In the peak season (that's been extending from June till October), the demand multiple times exceeds supply, and the capacity needs to be booked well in advance. Edith Cavell Meadows: (Moderate, 6 kilometers) Edith Cavell Meadows is one of the most popular trails in Jasper, and for good reason – it’s got a bit of everything, from mountain views to alpine meadows to hanging glaciers and more. The first part of the path is paved, leading you to a lookout point over Angel Glacier. After the lookout point, the trail continues ascending, and the path leads to two more viewpoints – most people (myself included) choose to stop at the second one. Do a Glacier Walk – Take an Athabasca Glacier Tour where you can walk on and drink from the 10,000 year old sheet of ice. You’ll be taken out to the glacier on a huge all-terrain bus with a knowledgeable guide who will teach you about the area’s history. After arriving on the glacier, you’ll get to walk directly on the ice and explore crevasses and hills. Some tours are all day events (10 am – 5 pm), but you can find shorter trips at the Discovery Centre that are 3 hours in length.
