If you are into the metaphysical and quantum physics then this is most definitely the book for you, If you are bored of the mundane and wish to expand your current awareness of your universe this book is for you. Ben is an intuitive inventor without much formal education who likes to tinker about in his versatile basement laboratory seeking simple and practical solutions to complex technological problems. Presently, he spends most of his time developing a variety of medical instruments. This is how he makes his living, and he is sufficiently good at it to be in great demand by modern, specialized industries that desperately need his special brand of creativity. Itzhak invites us in innocently enough by talk of vibrations and frequency. Next thing you know he’s discussing frequency coherency and holograms. Suddenly, you’re strapped in and he’s pushed you off the edge and you are on a crazy Bentov Bender zip line through the consciousness of the cosmos. Hang on. He narrowly escaped being sent to the camps and moved to British Palestine, first living on the Shoval kibbutz in the Negev. [3]

Bentov had a daughter, Sharona Ben-Tov Muir, with his first wife, whom he would divorce. Later he married Ukrainian-born sculptor and poet Mirtala Serhiivna Pylypenko-Kardinalovska ( Kharkiv, 1929), also known as Mirtala Bentov. In his exciting and original view of the universe, Itzhak Bentov has provided a new perspective on human consciousness and its limitless possibilities. Widely known and loved for his delightful humor and imagination, Bentov explains the familiar world of phenomena with perceptions that are as lucid as they are thrilling. He gives us a provocative picture of ourselves in an expanded, conscious, holistic universe, showing us that: If you fancy the topic of consciousness, do not be put off by the seeming complexity hiding in the book's title. In most chapters, the Czechoslovak-born author did an excellent job translating the abstract into the concrete, aptly squeezing new ideas into a juice of information even a 9th grader would be able to consume. I do not want to discuss the contents of the book in great detail to avoid looking like I've completely lost it (2020 has been a long year). The book guides the reader through basics of contemporary (1980s) physics using a well-written and easily understandable language, touching topics like the human sensory input receptors, the composition and behavior of solid matter under extreme magnification and later slides into the, ahem, more provocative areas, drawing on the basics of the string theory, consciousness as a property of mass and so on. Additionally, the book is full of author's funny doodles and anecdotes, that help the reader visualize some of the mentioned phenomena and concepts. A powerful book on the nature of consciousness and the universe, Stalking The Wild Pendulum is a masterpiece.

This work also contains a good amount of humour both in written and drawn form, along with a number of chapters and passages starkly inspired by mysticist schools of thought; The sun and all other celestial bodies containing their own vast intelligent conscious agency for example - A notion i'm not too fond of, but within the author's own ontological framework he develops and presents to the reader it does make "sense" to a limited extent. Bentov's invention was a seismographic device to record the heartbeat, in particular the aorta's reverberations. Marc Seifer described the results: "During normal breathing, the reverberations in the aorta are out of phase with the heartbeat and the system is inharmonious. However, during meditation and when the breath is held, the echo off the bifurcation of the aorta (where the aorta forks at the pelvis to go into each leg) is in resonance with the heartbeat and the system becomes synchronized, thus utilizing a minimum amount of energy. This resonant beat is approximately seven cycles per second, which corresponds not only to the alpha rhythm of the brain but also to the low-level magnetic pulsations of the Earth." [8] Personal life [ edit ]He relates reincarnation to the newtons second law (conservation of energy). Our metaphysical energy is conserved when we die. Very accessible, almost as trying to explain it to a six year old (well, perhaps 12), and written with a sense of humour as well. Shame he died a few years later in an airplane accident; but this is clearly a magnum opus.
