Gin | I could tell you all sorts of things about which gin you should use, but I find that our taste is our guide, or our memories; Tanqueray Gin was my Daddy’s fave and I will always be partial to it, as it reminds me of him!

Provide an assortment (or not) of tonic water or alternate mixers, make sure you have plenty and of course the gin. Make sure your container is sterile, otherwise the gin will go off during the process. We used a large sealable Kilner jar, but as long as it’s clean and won’t let the air in, anything goes. Add your BLOOM gin then add your infusing flavours. Pop the top and leave to soak. At Asda, customers love our innovative flavour combinations and we’re passionate about giving our customers more of what they want. We create delicous products that deliver on quality and price so that our customers don’t have to compromise – especially on special occasions like Valentine’s Day!" When BLOOM’s Master Distiller Joanne Moore first created BLOOM London Dry Gin, little did she know she would be instrumental in changing the way we drink. As the gin industry boomed, so did Joanne’s creativity. And, with a pinch of poetic license, a large handful of talent and a dash of vision, four new gins were borne to the BLOOM gin range. But first … the science bit. What exactly is pink gin?Playing host? Our range of flavoured gins is sure to get the party started. Whether you prefer a classic dry gin or want to add some colour with pink gin, we’ve got a wide variety to choose from. Just some of the flavours we offer include summery strawberry, peach and mango. Choose your flavours: if you want to make pink gin, you’ll need a flavouring of the same colour. We like rose petals (obviously) but also red fruits, pink grapefruit, rhubarb or blood orange.

Transfer to a gorgeous bottle and store in a cool dark place. Give out as Christmas presents or keep all to yourself. Note that homemade gin infusions can keep for up to a year, but we’re guessing you’ll have finished the bottle long before that. Now comes the best bit. Taste to see if you’re happy with your drink, and strain to remove any sediment that may have formed. Quintessential Brands’ award-winning premium brands portfolio includes Greenall’s The Original Handcrafted Gin, BLOOM London Dry Gin, Thomas Dakin Small Batch Gin, Berkeley Square London Dry Gin, and Opihr Gin. Its Irish brands include The Dubliner Irish Whiskey, The Dublin Liberties Irish Whiskey, The Dead Rabbit Irish Whiskey, Feeney’s Irish Cream Liqueur and O’Mara’s Irish Country Cream. iqueurs in the portfolio include Alizé and Toussaint Coffee Rum Liqueur. The company is also a leader in contract bottling and own label & private label spirits, working with retail partners across the world to provide spirits solutions of unrivalled quality. Pour some sugar onto a small plate – (pink sanding sugar would work great here, or make your own by placing sugar in baggie or container and add a drop of red or pink food color and shake until it colors the sugar to desired hue), all natural cane sugar or white sugar would work great here too.

BLOOM Jasmine and Rose

Herbs and plants work great too for something a little bit unusual: apart from elderflower, try ginger, thyme, lavender, violet, rosemary or of course sloe berries.
