Purists are likely to go with the original mono track, but it sounds a bit thinner in comparison to the other options. It does, however, have a couple of missteps: the contrivance of the Dr (the new Loomis) used to bring the antagonist and protagonist together, the inappropriately placed humour (cops discussing sandwiches) and the slightly ‘Home Alone’ ending, but these can be overlooked in the grand scheme of things. Blacks are intense, indeed this is probably the darkest the picture has ever been, but because of the dynamic range there is plenty going in on in the shadows. As his fury builds to a spine-tingling climax, the longhidden secrets of the screen's most maniacal murderer are shockingly revealed.

Though colours appear somewhat muted when compared with the blu-ray edition, where they feel richer and more natural overall. A cleverly put together film with plenty of references to the original, awesome music with only a couple of missteps that can be forgiven in the grand scheme of things. Black level is, for the most part, terrific, when night falls it can be pitch, pierced only by torches or car headlights, hiding some decent shadow detail when required; this adds a strong sense of depth to the image. From VHS to Blu-Ray, this horror classic has existed in many versions, often with revised visuals that didn't match the original theatrical print.

Costumes, furniture, buildings, vehicles, and objects all have richer hues, not to mention greater depth and detail. The scene of Annie and Laurie driving home at dusk is particularly eye-popping, with great detail on the windows and in the shadows of the car as the setting sun pours in.

Released in 1985, Demons is an Italian horror film directed by Lamberto Bava that sees a group of people getting attacked by demons during a mysterious movie screening. precision notes of a familiar refrain, a wonderful reproduction of Carpenter's original, iconic score. The reality programmers at DangerTainment have selected Rudy (Sean Patrick Thomas, Dracula 2000), Bill (Thomas Ian Nicholas, American Pie), and a group of thrill-seeking teenagers to spend one fun-filled night in the childhood home of serial killer Michael Myers. does not absolutely immerse the listener into the score but that does create a fuller listening sensation.Home Entertainment's Dune (2021) topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts, and with assistance from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Halloween Kills, which debuted in second place . And this Halloween, Laurie's rebellious son (Josh Hartnett, 30 Days Of Night), his girlfriend (Michelle Williams, Venom), and their friends will become Michael's newest victims unless Laurie can conquer her fears and put evil in its place once and for all. The biggest omission, and one that was not likely to be included anyways, is all of the unearthed camera negative footage from the film, which was discovered in the mid-2000s by Don May, Jr. Back in Haddonfield: Making Halloween – Ridiculously short 6 minute feature on this new interpretation of the original film, covers characters new and old, and updating for a new audience. a number of lore-building films, standalone sequels, a franchise film in title only, and a pair of reboots.

Next is Anchor Bay’s 2013 audio commentary with John Carpenter and Jamie Lee Curtis, which is another enjoyable conversation as the two catch up while watching the film together, spending much of their time jovially sharing their memories of the production. delivers a solid image, one that bests the Blu-ray largely through a more solidified color spread under the HDR encoding. One year later, his traumatized young niece Jamie (Danielle Harris, Rob Zombie's Halloween) is horrified to discover she has a telepathic bond with her evil Uncle . Loomis (the legendary Donald Pleasence) has a new plan to destroy The Boogey Man in his childhood home using Jamie as bait. Unfortunately the disc has not been up-graded to the immersive surround tracks, so no Dolby Atmos or DTS-X, what we do have is the same Dolby TrueHD 7.First up is Scream Factory’s 2014 audio commentary with Nick Castle, Dean Cundey, and Tommy Lee Wallace, which is a fun chat between the three men as they reminisce about the making of the film while watching it together. Again, the color timing is relatively similar to Lionsgate’s 4K UHD although it might fall somewhere in between the two varied color timings. The first (real) slasher movies, the unstoppable killer killing horny teenagers, the long slow build up; everything about the film is known and homage; it leaves its peers in the shade and it as effective today as it was in 1978.

Halloween: Unmasked is Mark Cerulli’s 2000 documentary about the film with most of the main cast and crew, narrated by Dee Snider. Higher bit rates and tighter grain are evident too, and a minor aspect ratio adjustment reveals more information along the edges of the frame. They are now presented in the sharpest resolution possible, and the HDR on display helps with both contrast and color.None of these options represent the film perfectly, but the mono and Atmos mixes are the better options by far. Of course, its success has seen a slew of sequels, reboots and remakes, 10 in total, all with varying degrees of success, some building on, others ignoring and others still building on those that ignore the previous lore from earlier films – one could count 4 distinct time lines. Whilst there is an up-turn in the detail afforded by the higher resolution, it is modest, and best seen in close ups, such as skin texture and clothing weaves, indeed the Shape’s mask is horrendous close up, while set dressings (kitchen, out-house/garage, bedroom clutter) all show slightly keener edges.
