Its a clinical sweet perfume. It stays beautifully fresh all the way through. Certainly no dirty drydown. I get strawberry notes and something metallic. Not hugely woody as the notes suggest. Its clean, if slightly medicinal. And wouldn't interfere with scents around you.

Yes, its output is a somewhat intense hospital iodine smell, it doesn't smell like a dentist to me, it smells like an operating room. A dentist smells like fluoride, not iodine. So yeah, definitely reformulated- weaker- lesser- i know my new bottle is authentic but it's not the same at all. There's no magic in the new formulation. It's a complete sham, a scam, and a waste of money. I could have put the money to better niche fragrances that actually give what I need them to. Never again. Save yourselves money and DONT BUY NEW BOTTLES. You'll regret it because the mfk peoples are shady and doing crappy business, with crappy sales representatives, selling a watered down version of what used to be an actual good fragrance.Baccarat Rouge 540 edp is a different fragrance, which is pursued by its followers and also by its detractors with the same intensity. But a lot of these dupes are extremely sweet very heavy and smell synthetic I can always tell when it’s not MFK.

The SA sprayed BR540 and I did "yike". As I am quite expressive the SA knew straight away that this fragrance was not for me and redirected me towards Oud Satin Mood that I bought. I've had the pleasure of smelling the oil on my hand to compare it with all the dupes I've felt in the air. Two conclusions: 1. The dupes are really good, so in my opinion there is no point spending that much on the original BR540. 2. It really does smell expensive. I don't know how, and why, but it feels like luxury. If gold was perfume, I think that's what it would smell like. Maybe I'm biased by all the marketing surrounding this scent. Later impression: projects more over time. My chemistry must be neutral as still the same metallic slightly woody strawberry 2 hours in. Longevity, sillage,lasting power is not there for the price.. i feel so sorry for all those who hate this and wasted their money. .I know because I am right there with you. If you have the nose for it, you will adore it...if you don't you will say it's watery and you wasted your money.I can't justify owning both of these at the same time, but once I'm out WoT, I may get this instead of new bottle. To me, it's feminine and definitely not suitable for a straight masculine "alpha male". You will not attract the ladies or turn heads unless you layer it with something woody/ouddy.

Projection: 11/10 (Projects very far for a good 4 hours and does not really come close to the skin for another 4 hours) There is something very odd about this fragrance: many people do not get that it is quite polarizing and that actually quite a few people hate BR540 or do not like it. And when you do tell people that you hate BR540, they take it personal. Calm down people this is just a fragrance and there are much more important things on earth to get concerned about. I shouldn't have to. Lesson learned. I will cherish and love my old bottle, regret the new bottle - I stopped wearing MFK in 2020 that’s when I started to go off of it, But as a fair review after what I’ve said it is a unique fragrance on its own when I first smelt this there was nothing like this out at the time it was a Masterpiece to me 6 years ago and I do hope one day I can wear it again without feeling the way I do. If you want a high quality fragrance with outstanding performance and you love the scent DNA that smells luxurious, sexy and sophisticated then go for it; I would highly recommend adding this to your collection if you are willing to spend the money.My only one last hope is that if I don't use it for 3 or 4 years it'll actually get better with time. ITS A LONG SHOT BUT IT IS WHAT IT IS. Every couple of years a fragrance becomes publicized as the chosen one. Granted, the fragrance will have been launched for several years but it will be the must have that leaves goes from being elite to having 8 dupes. BR540 is this fragrance. It has a sweet sophisticated appeal that has unisex qualities for an alluring man or a woman commanding attention because the fragrance when worn in moderation will turn heads and make olfactory’s fall in love.
