Take measurements at three different points just in case your window is not square and write down the smallest measurement. This measurement is called ‘Inside Recess’ (See fig. 1). A small deduction (1.5cm) for clearance will be taken off the width by us from your supplied measurements to ensure your blind can operate smoothly and fits within the recess. MEASURING THE DROP If you have a rail with a centre overlap, measure the total width of the rail excluding finials, then measure the overlap and add the two measurements together.

Being made from 100% polyester it features great strength, durability and abrasion resistance, and can be both machine and hand sewn. It is also resistant to shrinkage during machine washing at 40C or fading due to its excellent colourfastness. Manufactured using energy efficient Micro Core Technology, a Topstitch Needle or Universal, size 100 or 110 needle is recommended.

This heading is only suitable for curtain poles up to35mm in diameter. Measure from the top edge of your pole, to where you want the curtains to finish. And add on 2.5cm to allow for the heading above the pole. WAVE 80mm HEADING Where the cords, on the blind, are spaced longer than 20cm apart, a Breakaway device must be fitted. A go to for both hand and machine sewing, providing a strong yet a soft, smooth and supple stitching for any stich type without fibre lint or seam crimping. Suitable for making and mending clothing, home furnishings, blankets, bedsheets and loads more, manufactured using energy efficient Micro Cote Technology. A 70-90 size universal needle is recommended.Measure the total width of the rail or pole (excluding finials). Don’t forget to account for overlap – this is an additional measurement, normally 2.5cm, which allows the hanging curtains to overlap in the middle when they are closed. IMPORTANT – Always use a metal tape to take your measurements rather than a fabric or plastic tape, which may stretch and result in inaccurate measurements. MEASURING THE WIDTH Guterman Extra Strong Threads The Guterman Extra Strong Thread is ideal for heavy duty uses such as upholstery, vinyl, heavyweight fabrics, denim and leather. Featuring a high break point and made using 100% polyester, designed to cope with highly stressed seems. With its finer than the top stich threat it can be used for both hand and machine sewing. A size 100 universal needle or top stitch needle is recommended for use with this thread.
