It is loaded with continuity references. But this won't put non comic readers off. It is also firmly character driven and full of genuine emotion. It manages to balance it out perfectly with the humour. As of writing, there's no set release date for the DVD version of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse.

There is no doubt that we were ready for the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.That sequel came out at the start of the summer, and it did not disappoint. Of course, we’ve wanted to add it to our DVD collections since then. The question was when that would be possible. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse which came before the highly anticipated new Spider-man movie first got released on December 14, 2018. Everyone's been fully focused on Across the Spider-Verse and barely crossing the finish line. And now it's like: 'Oh, yeah, now we have to do the other one'." At some point after the movie's original cinema run from the second of June onwards, we hope that we'll be able to share more news about the Blu-ray version as well. That is the only issue anyone could have with this movie. The slowing down and leaving it hanging that is, not that more is to come. Because otherwise it really an amazing film. It's a PG certificate so a bit too much perhaps for the very young to take in. I will say though it doesn't have anything, even with all that the animation does, that should bother epileptics or anyone who can't handle flashing lights. Very little is known about this movie. Well, that's the case if you haven't seen Across the Spider-Verse yet. Speaking on the Happy Sad Confusedpodcast, Miller said: "The multiverse is big and wide, and all things grow. Why would you think [that in] a multiverse, in which many things are possible, that [those things are] not related?" Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Versetakes place a little over a year after the events of the movie's 2018 predecessor, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The acclaimed sequel to 2018's Into the Spider-Verse was released this year, and fans will now be able to relive it all again at home this month.
