The usage, the terrain you ride on, and the weather conditions are also parameters taken into account for the ideal pressure. Remember, if required, we advise you to consult the MICHELIN bicycle tyre pressure chart to convert these figures to PSI. The Road Bike section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width. This new range of tyres from Michelin replaces their previous Power Competition and Power Road tyres. These tyres are aimed at racers and demanding riders. The Power Cup range is split into Racing and Competition Lines. The Competition Line has the Power Time Trial and Power Cup Tubular, which are top level and race specific tyres.

We would have loved to rate the new Power Cup TLR 5 out of 5, but we have to subtract 0.2 points as the casing seems way too big for a 25-622 tire, and (even more important) the tread is far too small. The tread-to-casing ratio (percentage of the casing covered by the tread) comes in at just 35.2% (GP 5000 S TR = 42.2%), the lowest tread cover of all road bike tires that we've had on the test bench. The best way to do this is to invest in a bicycle tyre pump with a pressure gauge. When inflating your tyres, this pump will display the current air pressure either in Bars or PSI (Pounds per Square Inch). MICHELIN has a handy bike tyre pressure chart which allows you to swiftly convert PSI to Bar and vice versa. In addition, our bike tyre pressure chart offers further information on how to fine-tune your pressure according to your personal weight and the kind of cycling activity you are engaged in. I’ve always been a fan of this michelin tire line for 15 years -> krylion carbon to endurance to endurance v2. These power cup seem to have a lot of the puncture resistance of those tires but now in a better rolling resistance/performance format. If they have roughly the same puncture resistance I’d be willing to give them a shot.

The tyres used by the Cofidis team for riding the Classics and Grands Tours

Firstly, road bike tyre pressure usually requires the front and rear wheels to be inflated to the same pressure. The only exception to this would be the fitting of two different tyre models, each with a different recommended pressure. The next thing to consider with road bike tyre pressure is the tyre section width and most importantly the weight of the rider. The heavier the rider, the higher the bike's tyre pressure should be. The Power Cup is the latest addition to Michelin's road bike tire lineup. With the Power Cup, Michelin goes head-on with the Continental Grand Prix 5000 series that's been the "gold standard" in road bike tires for the past few years. The Power Cup is available in a traditional "clincher" tube-type version, a tubeless-ready (TLR) version, and a tubular version for those that still prefer tubular tires. Meanwhile Competition Line has the Power Cup and Power Cup TLR tyres – TLR for tubeless ready. Michelin have created new tread compounds to improve speed, rolling efficiency and cornering grip. These compounds have come from Michelin’s experience in the world of MotoGP. Michelin Power Cup Tubular Michelin Power Cup Tubular

Just like the 25 mm version of the Power Cup TLR, we don't recommend the 28 mm version for wide rims. If you're still running 15 or 17 mm rims, these will probably be fine and offer incredible performance.

I only see results for the clincher + standard weight butyl tube in the BikeRadar link. Let's see results for the tubeless version... The MICHELIN POWER CUP Tubular uses technologies, including Gum-X Technology for optimised rolling efficiency, cornering grip and longevity; High Density Shield Technology for high levels of puncture resistance; a 2x 160 TPI casing which offers comfort at high operating pressures; and a Latex Tube to reduce weight, while at the same time enhancing puncture protection, rolling efficiency and comfort. This is claimed to offer low rolling resistance in dry conditions, but deliver good grip in the wet.
