Combined with the less secure fit, the Endorphin Trail is a less performant shoe than the Voyage and I would prefer the Voyage for all uses. But after some miles, the upper gained a bit of stretch (and I think the GTX layer might be the cause for the initial rigidity) and I did not feel excessive pressure point up front. There are a couple of drainage areas within the shoe, allowing water to release from within the shoe. With the Voyage Nitro, Puma has managed to create a really great trail experience, while offering decent protection against the elements. What it does is melt the sole material at 200 degrees, place it in a mould and then apply external pressure to fix the uppers.

I’d definitely feel comfortable wearing this shoe for marathon distance races or longer if the elevation change is minimal.The problem of getting clothes wet, and subsequently losing comfort, haunted mankind until the second half of the 20th century.

Puma punts the fact that there’s Nitro tech included in the midsole, and just like on the Magnify Nitro, also Profoam Lite. With a 32/24 stack height we are in mid range for cushion with the Nitro providing a forgiving feel and clear resiliency and bounce, all well controlled.

The fit around the heel, ankle and midfoot is very nice with the integrated bootie construction, but just as Mike, I found the front very pointy, whereas the shoe being the perfect length in my usual 10. Though they are very similar in weight, the Cascadia feels more like a tank and is much stiffer, both above and below the foot.

Although not built for speed, I found that picking up the pace for periods of time was sustainable in the right conditions. This said the newer Invisible Fit Gore-Tex significantly improves on fit and comfort although the Voyage is a more conventional Gore-Tex inner bootie construction.

The fit is really nice (actually there’s a Sense S/Lab upper inside the external cover), it rides a lot firmer than the Puma, and it gets an equally efficient traction and is maybe a bit more effective in snow thanks to its deeper lugs. My more road than trail run was yet better with the smooth flow and silence on pavement appreciated. Standing at 344 g for the size 10, it’s only slightly heavier than the UA Hovr Machina (330g) and the Puma Magnify Nitro (324g).
