Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil Isopropyl Palmitate Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate Phenoxyethanol BHT Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil Isopropyl Myristate Retinyl Palmitate Tocopheryl Acetate Other skin types (that are more on the dryish side) – MCT oil, Jojoba oil Step 2. MASSAGE THE OIL ONTO DRY SKIN Moisturizes the skin: many plant-based oil cleansers are rich in fatty acids, which keep skin plump and hydrated When it comes to cleansers, the term "oil" might be off-putting or conjure visions of clogged pores and rampant breakouts. The truth is, though, "every skin type can benefit from cleansing oils — even oily," says pro makeup artist Tati Westbrook. It may sound counterintuitive, but this facial cleanser type combines with the oils on your skin and in your makeup, breaking them down so they're actually easier to remove, says cosmetic chemist Perry Romanowski. This facial cleanser is made with the perfect blend of gentle cleansers and skin-loving ingredients such as grapeseed oil and vitamins A & E

Chances are you’ve heard of double-cleansing. But have you tried it? It’s the ultimate skin refresh (to really help deep cleanse your skin!), and a great way to add a cleansing oil to your routine if you’re staying loyal to your daily cleanser. This two-step cleansing revolution doubly rids skin of make-up, dirt, bacteria, and helps protect against dull skin, dryness, and breakouts in the process (sounds good, right?).

Shop by skin type: When choosing a cleansing oil, look for ingredients that solve your skin’s specific pain points. “For acne-prone skin, rosehip oil can be helpful,” says Hadley King, M.D., clinical instructor of dermatology at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York. “It has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.” Wong does point out that coconut oil and olive oil are ones to potentially avoid; coconut oil because it can clog pores and olive oil because it’s often processed and this can lead to irritation. Each product and brand is different though, so be sure to do independent research.

While those with oily skin can benefit from the drying effects of traditional water-based cleansers, oil-based cleansers can also work to cleanse oily skin. Double cleansing is particularly useful for those with very oily skin as they can benefit from both the effects of water-based cleansers and the moisture balancing effects of oil-based cleansers. Sensitive skin The naturally foaming face wash not only deeply cleanses, but it also aids in balancing out the natural oils in the skin, gently removing makeup and impurities without leaving skin feeling dry. Castor oil is a humectant– it attracts water to itself, so it will draw the water out of your skin when used with the oil cleansing method. This means that it can sometimes be very drying to the skin (especially to the dry or sensitive skin). Hi Rowena! You can do OCM every evening if you would like to!:) Please, see here which oils I recommend for your skin type:Do you think it could be a particular oil? Would I be able to try another type of oil, or would you not recommend it? I really apologise that you're having a hard time to find Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Cleansing Oil. Also, The Simple team would like to assure you that we're still manufacturing the product. Aly R, Shirley C, Cunico B, Maibach HI. Traditional water-soluble cleansers rely primarily on surfactants to clean your skin. Surfactants are compounds that reduce the surface tension between liquids and solids, which allows you to rinse off surface debris using water. While surfactants help keep your skin clean, they can also disrupt the natural biome of your skin, which may lead to dryness and irritation. It really pains me when I read about the negative experiences from people who have used either olive oil or coconut oil for the OCM, then found that the whole thing only worsened their skin, and discarded the oil cleansing forever.Generally speaking, people with dry skin benefit the most from using an oil-based cleanser. However, that does not mean that oil-based cleansers should be avoided by other skin types. At least we have an answer, but honestly there is NO good replacement, I've tried the grit routine for years and used mineral oil, bio oil, and nothing worked until I finally used the last of this and so much crap came out! Very sad.
