The ENVG-II are night-vision goggles (NVG) used primarily by CTRG operators. The ENVG-II allows the user to switch between night and white-hot thermal vision modes. Ghost Hawk Brewing Company is a collaborative effort between two Clifton natives - Tom Rachelski and Steve Bauer. Born from a passion for delicious beer, and escaping the mundane routines of everyday life, this project took nearly two years to get off the ground. Inception to opening day was roughly 21 months of blood, sweat, and tears.

Both main characters, Little Hawk and John, model good, responsible behavior. Little Hawk follows the rules and also makes good choices, like when he takes only half of an animal's winter food store even though he's starving himself. John also fulfills his obligations, and his greatest character strength is that he judges people by what they do and how they treat him. He defends Native Americans from colonists who view them as savages, and he refuses to bow to pressure from the Puritans to worship only in their way. Guiding adult figures aren't prominent, but Little Hawk's grandmother is a wise, gentle leader and teacher, and the family John is apprenticed to treats him well, eventually as one of their own. I don't think I'm the only one who read that passage in the book where John dies and came to the unavoidable conclusion that this book didn't have much in a way of a point. Under normal circumstances, when a character acquires knowledge after a long period of time (not to mention a deeper understanding of another culture) they use it later in the story to the benefit of others. One could argue that John does use the knowledge when he saves Metacom from certain death, but this is not the case. John grabs the child and then is able to communicate with the parents later, but no real outcome is derived from this. Well, then maybe Cooper's point is that there is no point. Maybe history is just a series of unfortunate events without rhyme or reason. Could be. But why even bother to take the time to build this friendship between a boy and a ghost if you're just going to throw it away later? I cannot for the life of me figure out what Cooper was doing with this story. Brown Goshawks are known to breed in well-forested areas near cities such as Canberra, and will feed on introduced birds in urban areas, such as House Sparrows and Common Starlings. Bores and other artificial water sources are important to birds in inland areas. Goshawks can sometimes prey upon aviary birds and free-range fowl. References

Ghost Hawk by Susan Cooper grabbed me from the start partly due to her excellent writing and partly due to the period of history the story explores. The plight of the Native Americans is told throughout with a gentle touch that lends itself so well to uncovering the terrible injustices of the time without being too graphic or sensationalist. As I read, I found myself embroiled in the fight for survival of both the main characters and relished my time reading. Highly recommended for KS3/4 a... The former has an integrated mine detector and mounts a custom 12-gauge disruptor weapon on its swivel arm, intended to disable explosive devices.

That said, it made me itchy, the way many of the books we read in my reading group make me itchy. It reminds me of the books we’ve read where some White Lady Point of View Character introduces us, ala Orson Wells in the Americanized version of the first Godzilla, to The Other. And it always makes me skeptical about what the helpful POV character tells me.

The Ghost Hawk is a BLUFOR medium-lift utility stealth helicopter that was introduced in the base game. It was developed for special operations with a focus on the deployment and extraction of troops undetected by enemy radar.
