Thanks for reading, and be sure to let us know how you would rank the Tiny Epic games as well! I won't make fun of you! lol.

FEEDING TIME!!! Toss goats out to hungry carnivore dinos. Throw leaves out to herbivore dinos. If you don’t, they just might escape! Love playing out your Calamity Jane fantasies? Tiny Epic West ern is going to be in your wheelhouse. There’s so much to love in this underrated and oft-overlooked game:

About

Despite its potential complexity, the game is highly customisable with multiple difficulty levels that greatly alter the gameplay and add entirely new mechanics - hence all the rulebooks. If you like the zombie genre but want your tabletop gaming with a bit more meat on its bones, Dawn of the Zeds is the zombie board game for you. Welcome to a magical place- the Mushroom Realm! The realm in the center of Tiny Epic Quest looks different every single time you play- because it is. Can we talk about the art that is Tiny Epic Quest? The artwork and illustrations by Miguel Coimbra draw you in with bright colors inspired by the early 8-bit versions of the Legend of Zelda series. This is arguably the game’s greatest pull- the look and feel encourage discovery and exploration. This is a combination of the human rules for the competitive game with a player controlled zombie the zombie rules detailed in the main article above. Solo What is unique about TEZ is that it can be played 5 different ways! Team vs. One Cooperative, Team vs. Game Cooperative, Free for All vs. One Competitive, Free for All vs. Game Competitive, and Solo. The “One” is the zombie player. “Cooperative” is where all the humans are working together to complete all three missions. The “Free for All” means the human players are racing to finish the three missions first.

The wounds and ammo tokens on a player’s card represent how likely they are to survive. If the wound token and ammo token are ever on the same space the player is eaten alive by the zombies. All of their item cards are dropped in the room that they are in. If there are no more survivor tokens in the courtyard the human players have lost. If there are, one is removed and the player is dealt a new player card with zero wounds and nine ammo. The player card for the survivor that got eaten is flipped to its zombie sided and is placed next to the zombies other card. The zombies are now stronger and have additional abilities. While the dice rolls are entirely random, the strategy lies in determining when to stop rolling and enjoy the brains you have. Dice come in three different levels of danger; holding onto a red die is practically begging for a shotgun blast to the face. If you accumulate three shotgun blasts before stopping, you have been sufficiently triple-tapped into oblivion. Don't get too greedy, we all want some piece of mind. With the credits and/or energy you accumulate, you’ll be able to deploy a turret or mine. Other players who land on them will be wounded! Trading is basic, with certain goods being traded in certain ports- you’ll grab gold if you offload your cargo at the right ports of call. As you would think, crewing up allows you to add another member to your trusty crew. The shifting value mechanic reminded us of the fiddly nature of the tiny epic game designer Scott Almes’ early game, Harbour.Featuring no fewer than five rulebooks, automated zombies and a lengthy play time, Dawn of the Zeds works particularly well as a solo game. In fact, the original version of Dawn of the Zeds was designed specifically for one player to handle all the actions, events and movement. The most recent third edition includes cooperative as well as competitive gameplay modes for up to five players. Whatever flavour of zombie game you're into, they all require loaded guns, steeled nerves, and juicy brains. Gameplay doesn't get much simpler than Zombie Dice, which consists of one cup and 13 dice. Players take turns rolling three random dice from the cup, trying to eat as many brains as possible while avoiding shotgun blasts - the zombies' natural predator. If you’re experiencing fantasy or sci-fi theme burnout, Tiny Epic Western is the solution to all of your troubles! We rank it further down our list because of two things: 1) it’s so different from other tiny epic games- this one is for someone who doesn’t mind trying something completely new, and 2) it features tired caricatures of Western characters with limited diversity.

As a Survivor, your turn will consist of moving 3 times. Then based on where you move, you’ll be able to do additional things. For instance, if you move into a room with a Zombie, you’ll have to fight it by rolling the Zombie die. Or if you move into a room adjacent to a Zombie, you can spend ammo to shoot it. Killing a Zombie is actually pretty easy… but they just keep coming. Keeping them from overrunning the entire mall, while trying to accomplish your objectives, that is hard! The game can also be played solo with the human player controlling two separate survivors and the using the same rules as the co-operative game with game controlled zombies. Final Thoughts on Tiny Epic Zombies I'm sure there are some parallels that we could draw from here and use them in the rest of our lives too, but I really just wanted to talk about board games this time. It is just a regular day, you are hanging out at the shopping mall browsing the shops and grabbing a bit to eat. But then you notice something is amiss, people don’t quite look right, they have a lumbering walk and are staring at you with hunger in their eyes. You suddenly realise you are in the middle of a zombie outbreak and you are in a fight for your survival. This is Tiny Epic Zombies!

Final Thoughts

After you search the room, more Zombies flood into the Mall. Then it’s the next player’s turn. Simple as that. A player must move in to an adjacent room. If a room is connected with a flat section of wall it is considered adjacent. This also includes moving through a room in to an adjacent store. Each card represents a store and each store has three rooms. If a player starts in a room with a zombie they must still move first before doing anything else. OVERVIEW: In Tiny Epic Zombies, survivors are always on the run, collecting weapons, killing Zombies and working toward completing objectives.
