Natürlich haben wir auch in diesem zweiten Band wieder William Trudel, das wohl süßeste, sympathischste, herzlichste, liebevollste, selbstloseste und mutigste Kind, das mir jemals in einem Kinderbuch unter die Augen gekommen ist. Besonders großartig finde ich hierbei auch, dass Tom Fletchel, obwohl William wegen einer Behinderung im Rollstuhl sitzt, beweist, dass man nicht unbedingt zwei funktionierende Beine benötigt, um die größten und fantastischsten Abenteuer zu erleben und trotz einer Behinderung sehr wohl in der Lage ist, ein für sich ganz wunderbares Leben zu führen. Ich bin jedes Mal wieder aufs Neue begeistert, das Tom Fletcher seine Bücher dazu nutzt, auch solche Themen zu behandeln und hoffe sehr, dass es ganz vielen Menschen, insbesondere Kindern, die sich eventuell in einer ähnlichen Situation befinden wie William Trudel, hilft und ihnen ein wenig Mut macht. Doch vorher geht es für die Trudels auf einen Abstecher an den Nordpol, denn der Weihnachtsmann lädt nicht nur William, sondern seine gesamte Familie an den Nordpol ein. Es erwarten unsere Charaktere nicht nur winterliche Begegnungen mit Wichteln, sondern zahlreiche weitere Abenteuer, die eine größere, unheilverkündende Bedrohung in die Wege leiten, die das Weihnachtsfest zu gefährden drohen. Dennoch konnte die gesamte Handlung mit ihrem kurzweiligen, bildhaften Charme bei mir durchweg punkten. Die Geschichte erzählt nicht nur von bezaubernden jungen Protagonisten, die sich in schier ausweglos erscheinenden Situationen behaupten und dabei nicht nur Lösungen suchen, sondern diese auch finden. Darüber hinaus erzählt dieses Buch auch von wichtigen Aspekten wie Mut, Glaube (an sich selbst), Freundschaft und den wirklich wichtigen Dingen im Leben, denn nichts Materielles kann eine zauberhafte Familie ersetzen.

Mir hatte der erste Band „Der Weihnachtosaurus“ so gut gefallen, dass ich natürlich auch Band 2 unbedingt lesen musste. Natürlich machen vor allem auch die unglaublich schönen und detailreichen Illustrationen auf beinahe jeder Seite diese Bücher zu einem einzigartigen Erlebnis.
