When he was 16, he started writing amusing short stories for the national Sunday newspaper (the Sunday Times). The old South African stamp evokes the nostalgic setting of this classic book of poignant and comic short stories set in the bushveld. Many poorer areas lack a majority age group, which is due in part to the people in that area being constrained by circumstance rather than being able to choose where to retire, raise a family or grow up. Through Oom Schalk, Bosman was able to make social commentary on South African race issues, on Afrikaners and on South Africa's curious history.

I absolutely relished these stories, and they are laden with atmosphere and populated by delicious characters. The property comes part furnished with sofas in the living room and double beds, mattresses, wardrobes and desks with chairs in the bedrooms. Bosman was sentenced to death for the crime and was sent to Death row, his sentence was later reduced. Like our own Mark Twain, Herman Charles Bosman wields a laughing intolerance of foolishness and prejudice, a dazzling use of wit and clear-sighted judgment. beautifully presented throughout**large kitchen extension**highly desirable area**four good-sized bedrooms**two bathrooms**large south facing garden**larger than average garage**master .

Herman Charles Bosman's prose is easy as breathing and light as breath itself, perfectly suited for capturing those small, precious, otherwise fleeting moments in which gathered hope, colliding with given fact, defines, in a series of small steps, how we come to look upon life. The stories are set in the early 20th century, after the Anglo-Boer war of 1899-1902 and well before the nationalist governments that implemented the system of Apartheid from the late 1940s.
