I'm using a Technics SL-1200 M3D (which has had the ground wire integrated with the RCA plugs) *for whatever that info is worth*. Here we have three graphs: one for Pluto and two for DJPRE II with its filter switch to Flat and Low Cut. Unlike many other phono preamps, this one has an easy gain knob that lets you dial in a specific amount of amplification.

If you were to try this as well, I'd suggest to seek out an original OEM Nintendo power supply, not a 3rd party one.The gain can be controlled on the front and includes a clipping LED that lets you know when your signal is too high. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Combined with the recording software I have chosen, the digitized version is almost indistinguishable from its analog source (to this old man’s ears), so what more could I ask for? Main FeaturesSingle Channel, Class A, 1073-style British Microphone PreampUK made Carnhill Transformers80dB of gain - resistor stepped gain switchTONE button - Changes input transformer impedance for. Manfred, when I got my Denon RX-990 I compared it's phono section to my old Grace "Classic" tube phono pre-amp and was shocked to find the Denon out-performed the Grace in every way.

The DJ PRE II acts as an interface between your turntable and your audio recording / playback system. All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. With the exception of the blue beacon that resides on the face of this preamp, I am thoroughly satisfied with the ART DJPRE II. I'd say it was fairly comparable to other budget pres I tried such as the Pluto and Mani, so a very good bang for the buck. No power switch, but I have it plugged into a power bar along with a fan that helps cool my receiver, so I just switch the plug bar off when I finish listening to music. The DJ PRE II (formerly named the “Phono MicroPRE”) acts as an interface between your turntable and your audio recording / playback system.

You're right, you have to spend some serious money to make a significant improvement in many built-in phono stages today.

I also tweaked the settings in my receiver, mainly the IntelliVolume setting for the particular input I'm using this preamp in. As for the rest of the system (because I know you guys will ask), I'm running a Luxman PD277 with an AT Signet TK7E. I think folks who don't know how to properly adjust it are trying not to have the green light stay on continuously.
