I love it. It shoes a different side to the Space Marines faction: Warhammer 40,000 is satire; there are no good guys, and this battle-maddened lunatic is testament to that. No one in their right mind takes on a horde of Tyranids armed with two daggers (well, three if you count the one embedded in the dead gribbly under his boot). So here are the overall contents for the Leviathon box. We’ll break it down by faction, starting with the Space Marines. If you like what we’re doing here you could really help encourage more content with a share on any social media platform. Some seriously cool new miniatures for you to dive into. All new miniatures, in plastic (obviously) for both the Space Marines and the Tyranids. What's also quite cool is that the contents of this box can be used to make two Combat Patrols so if you're new to Warhammer 40,000, you can start having fun with the slimmed-down version of the game straight out of the box. THEN, you can dive into the full games with the Rulebook contained within the set and the rest of the accessories. Warhammer 40,000 - What's Next?

Rather like the Ballistus Dreadnought, the Psychophage has been given a rough time by the Internet since it was first accounced. Within moments of it first appearing on Warhammer Fest livestreams, comparisons were drawn between it and the Chaos Space Marine Venomcrawler. I mean… yeah… On top of this, you’ll also find a construction booklet to help you build your miniatures and a decal sheet for the Space Marine force. Read more about the books and cards in the box here: Having just built a Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought for Warhammer 40,000 Imperium Delivery 23: Issues 87-90, which is made from approximately ten-thousand parts spread across three good-sized sprues, and which wiped the smile right off my face, I was expecting the Ballistus Dreadnought to put up a similar amount of objection. Librarians are the battle psykers of the Space Marines, smiting foes with bolts of witchfire and manipulating the empyrean to shield their allies. Encased in Terminator armour, he’s one of the most durable psykers available to Space Marine forces. Apothecary Biologis There is also the Lieutenant In Phobos Armour. This chap seems like he has been fighting behind enemy lines for a long time, armed with his huge Space Marine-sized knives and that new combi-bolter.The stat lines for each figure and unit are also included in the construction guide. The guide first takes you through the new Space Marines before providing you with their statistics, then moves on to the Tyranid builds and finally finishes off with their stats too. Before the main hive fleet force lands, vanguard organisms like Von Ryan’s Leapers often embed themselves on the hive fleet’s target planet. These ambush-hunters lie in wait, avoiding detection until they can do as much damage as possible. Termagants

Liam: The Termagants and Rippers are a single frame (or rather three small frames) together, as is tradition. You get ten Termagants and a single Ripper Swarm per full set of sprues, and the Leviathan box has two of these for twenty and two total, respectively. Arguably, the Infernus Squad are the least impressive of the Space Marines side of the box. The sculpts are still seriously impressive, and those flamethrowers will see people Googling “how to paint burn effects on Warhammer” in their thousands, but these guys are ultimately just space marines holding different guns.Tyranids are a voracious alien swarm invading the galaxy from beyond the void. Guided by the Hive Mind, they have one terrible purpose – to devour every last shred of biomass, reconstituting it into even more powerful biomorphs and repeating the nightmarish cycle anew on the next world in their path. Winged Tyranid Prime Pendulin: These new Termagants are easier to build, better looking, on a larger base, and with more realistic proportions. Primaris Termagants. They’re the upgrade I didn’t know I wanted. GW being GW, I doubt it will be the end but at least with the free rules (to begin with) it will be worth giving it a go. Leviathan ushers in the next era of Warhammer 40,000 with no small amount of gusto. The heap of new miniatures are all of superb, industry gold-standard-setting quality. The cards and rulebook will allow experienced players to get started with the new edition right away in supreme style, and even the new transfer sheet, covered in unique and individual markings to help bring more and more character to your minis, speaks volumes about personalisation, the embracing of different narrative directions, and multiple ways to play Warhammer. This box is meant to appeal to everyone – and we can’t help but agree that it certainly does.
