At 21:30, set all TRV’s to a temp of 17 which will also turn off the boiler via the Hive thermostat (set to something like 15 to force it) Better Thermostat is nice, but I found that it was almost too good.It kept sending new target temperatures to my TRV’s everytime the external temperature sensor changed its state.ZbReceived" : { "vibration" : { "Device" : "0x0B2D" , "Name" : "vibration" , "0000/FF0D" : 1 , "Endpoint" : 1 , "LinkQuality" : 72 }}} "0000/FF0D" is the key, value 1 is high sensitivity, 11 medium and 21 is low. You simply copy device plugin files (externsion *.zb) in the file system and they are automatically loaded at start.

As there is no input for external sensors, the TRV always refers to the internal temperature sensor as the reference. Thankfully, these can be calibrated with an offset. A long story short, calibration (and overall position of the thermostat) will be crucial. At the moment I’m not able to confirm if I will need all the Sonoff ZigBee Temperature sensors I deployed to monitor the temperature in each room. If the built-in one is accurate enough I will phase the others out. I highlighted positions in green that can be written to with the /set command. A detailed list of commands and possible values can be found in this article. Not all hope is lost Smart Meter, not so smart for home automationYou can dynamically load new files with ZbLoad

Usually, it seems Z2M has better device support (for the non standard stuff), but in my experience, ZHA isn’t far behind. At Zigbee start, all files with *.zb suffix are loaded into memory. Be careful of not saturating memory, especially on ESP8266. Zigbee device plugin format ~

If you want more details about adding ZigBee2MQTT devices, I have a dedicated post about this. I will just focus on getting you started with the TRV. A typical payload from the device contains all the thermostat settings. It’s very useful to get all of them at the same time. It looks like this: { If the Target Temperature is greater than 7 and less than the target temperature, I return True, but if the target temp is 7 or less than the current temp, I return false. This reduces the amount of flash writes to the TRV’s dramatically, which will in turn, increase its operating life.
