a [ by whom?]. b D = Direct; [ clarification needed] V = from Verb; A = from Adjective or Adjectival Phrase; I = from Indefinite noun; Learning the names of God Almighty and living by them is a great blessing. If we do not know who He is, how can we expect to love, worship, fear, and trust our Lord God Almighty? Therefore, it is the duty of every Muslim to learn about Allah (swt) and follow His words (the Holy Quran). Book 99 Names of allah The Compassionate ( ar-Rahman), the Holy ( al-Quddus), the Source of Peace ( as-Salam), the Supreme ( al-Mutakabbir)…these are just a few of the 99 Names of God to be found in Islam. It has been said that knowledge of Allah’s Beautiful Names is the greatest knowledge a human being can possess. A rich resource of Islamic theology, this book extensively investigates Allah’s names, scrutinizing their meanings and the implications they hold for believers. Shaykh al-Qadiri’s commentary on each of the Names offers a distinctive perspective.

I was delighted to be introduced to the Beautiful Names of Allah Memory Game by Faithful Kids. My children and I have enjoyed playing this game together and learning the 99 Names of Allah as we play! Call upon your Lord in humility and privately; indeed, He does not like transgressors. And cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good.” ( 7:55-56) Ayman Shihadeh Sufism and Theology Edinburgh University Press, 21.11.2007 ISBN 9780748631346 pp. 54–56The Abaser, The One who lowers whoever He willed by His Destruction and raises whoever He willed by His Endowment.

We must note, that these names are not superficial either. Some of the names of Allah may seem similar, but they are not synonymous. Each name represents a unique attribute. They highlight some virtue or value that is noble in Islam. To know them is a source of knowledge. What’s even greater is to try and integrate them into your life to be lived and emulated to the best of your ability. The idea that Allah loves us, even more than mummy and daddy, is something that even very young children will understand.Co-director of The Threshold Society, author of The Light of Dawn, Daily Readings from the Holy Qur’an

I like the book, it’s clear and easy to understand. I really like the illustrations and how it’s designed. I’ve learned more about the Names, my favourite is Al-Khaliq. I will tell my friend to read it because it tells you more about our religion and helps us learn about the Names. I can read it with my parents as well and we can learn together.

A contemporary take on the subject, Kidwai’s book includes a listing of the 99 Names, complete with their meanings, transliteration, and commentary in English. It is an excellent guide for individuals embarking on their journey to understanding these divine attributes. The idea of the game is simple enough for children as young as 4 year-old to understand! My little girl certainly enjoyed playing! The first pillar of imaan (faith) in Islam is Belief in Allah. As Muslims, we believe in Allah in accordance with His beautiful names and attributes. Allah has revealed His names repeatedly in the Holy Quran primarily for us to understand who He is. Learning and memorizing the names of Allah will help us to identify the correct way to believe in Him. There is nothing more sacred and blessed than understanding the names of Allah and living by them. How do we expect to worship, love, fear and trust our Lord, The Almighty Allah, if we don’t know who He is? I like the feel and print of the book. The colours are soothing, and the book makes one feel peaceful. I feel it is appropriate for Year 3 children to begin reading with their parents. I love the illustrations, and think the activities are great. As someone new to Islam, it is a book I would be interested in too. Although The 99 Names is intended for Muslim children, it’s really a treasure for all ages and faiths…and would be a fine addition to any religious library. I defy anyone to read this book and not come away with a deeper appreciation of God’s presence in the universe.

Simply place the cards face down on the table and take turns to find the matching pairs. As each player turns over a card, they must read that card aloud to the group. This helps other players to know which cards are where, and helps with the memorisation of the Asma-ul-Husna. The winner is the player to find the most matching pairs.
