Happy Birthday. Sorry, I’m not there to celebrate it with you. Never let anyone tell you that you don’t belong. In a bid to get the contract to become the next ghostwriter for the Baxter Brothers books, the students were tasked with trying to commit the perfect murder by Dupont and their victim had to be Jughead. The other likely option is that Jughead will wind up killing someone and rely on his friends to help him cover up the murder. This theory would explain why Betty takes charge in the clothes-burning (she is the most devoted to protecting Jughead), and Jughead could be off burying the body while his accomplices take care of the details. But there’s one clue in the episode “Witness for the Prosecution,” that may support both of these theories and that most viewers may not have factored into Jughead’s fate. Jughead has been offered the opportunity to be the next ghostwriter for the Baxter Brother novels. As we discover, Jughead has been a fan of the Baxter series since his father bought them for him when he was a child. However, FP Jones ended up confessing that the books actually came from Jughead’s grandfather.

To this day, the family has no idea where Forsythe Sr. lives. The other thing is that Forsythe Sr. attended Stonewall for a short amount of time. In all likelihood, Forsythe Sr. experienced the same type of injustices that Jughead has at the hands of the more privileged kids and left when he couldn’t take it anymore.Jughead is very family driven. Despite his father's constant screw ups and drunken mishaps, Jughead has always pushed him to be better and thought of his father as a someone deserving a second chance for trying to make an effort to change. After Jughead joined the Serpents, he made the choice to stay true to himself and better the gang. He pushes these beliefs onto the Serpents and banished anyone who disobeys, as seen with Cheryl and Toni. Since joining the Serpents, he's viewed them more as family rather than a gang. But the biggest killer of them all was Dupont himself as he was the one behind the mysterious murders of the Stonewall Four who all knew his secret about taking the idea for the book series from Jughead's grandfather Forsythe I (Timothy Webber). Clearly, this is what that the show wants us to think, and the scene does heavily suggest that Archie, Betty, and Jughead are mourning the death of their friend. Jughead is notably absent from the scene, and his beanie (which he never takes off) is bloodied and thrown into the fire. But while this seems like what the scene is hinting at, it is hard to imagine that Riverdale would kill off Jughead, who not only serves as a main character but also the narrator for the show. 2. Jughead will kill Charles Smith.

Considering the introduction of Kevin, the first openly gay character to grace the panels of “Archie Comics,” many began to question why Jughead had zero interest in either women or men or… any romantic relationship whatsoever. In “Jughead” issue #4, he is finally confirmed by writers Chip Zdarsky and Erica Henderson as being asexual, at least in their particular run. Forsythe Pendleton "Jughead" Jones III is a main character on The CW's Riverdale. He is portrayed by Cole Sprouse.

4. They are performing some sort of spell.

Another convincing theory comes from Jughead’s history in the Archie Comics. Jughead is supposed to have an identical cousin named Souphead. And as Buzzfeed points out, actor Cole Sprouse is a twin, and that makes this theory even more promising.
