When combined with a warm piece of toast and oozing melting butter, you’re in for a real treat. Who’d have thought eating toast and Marmite would feel so classy? I took a bite into my rather buttery toast lathered in Marmite and was blown away to say the least. I was worried that the truffle would either be too overpowering, or not strong enough, but it was absolutely perfect. Marmite, you’ve seriously impressed me with this one. Although the mixture of truffle and Marmite may sound like a bizarre mix, hear me out, because it actually works really well.

Forget the red and yellow label, because this time, Marmite has gone full on extra and I’m so here for it. It’s the latest in a series of high-profile brand extensions from the spread stalwart over recent years, such as last year’s chilli-infused Marmite Dynamite, and its much-hyped foray into peanut butter. It also partnered with Camden Town Brewery to launch a limited-edition Marmite Ale. The brand is touting its potential for use as an ingredient in a variety of dishes “from Insta-worthy sourdough truffle toast to creamy Marmite Truffle flavour fettuccine, or a rich fillet steak served with Marmite Truffle-infused gravy and pomme purée”.
