Chester is the neighborhood Weird Kid. Clearly. He always does things in his own special and particular way. So does his friend, Wilson. They double knot their shoelaces. They use handsignals on their bikes. They never swing at the first pitch. They always carry extra bandaids. After practicing the correct way, allow the students to demonstrate incorrect models of the strategy. Keep this short, but allow all kids to engage and be a little silly. Be sure to immediately return to the correct model to reinforce that learning. Chester’s City Walls are the most complete of their kind in Britain! Over time, their Roman foundations have been built upon, and now feature Saxon, Norman, and Victorian additions to name a few. Plus, their purpose has varied greatly through the years, from being initially constructed as an ancient defensive mechanism, to later being a fashionable promenade, all the way to their status nowadays as a Scheduled Monument and a major tourism attraction.

Did we miss something on diversity?

In the mood for something different? Why not try one of the spirits from Oddfellows’ extensive selection (including tequila, cognac, vodka, whiskey, and gin)? Alternatively, there are wines spanning all flavour profiles, and international beers to go around (including a 0% option)! Before commencing your Vertigo journey, you will be provided with safety equipment and a full briefing, and qualified instructors will supervise you once on the main course. Due to the physical demands of Vertigo, it is unsuitable for those with mobility issues. Nobody is sure exactly why Chester’s half-timbered galleries exist, but what is certain is that they constitute a perfect location for a spot of retail therapy, essentially giving you two high streets in one! From independent gems including Powells Vintage Jewellery and Tea Islands, to high-street heroes such as Waterstones Books and French Connection, you will be spoiled for choice on The Rows! Perhaps treat yourself to a pampering at The Scented Garden Retreat, or a new outfit courtesy of Nichols & Co, and a gift from Harriet & Dee! E: Pair partner groups to share their work and explain their thinking. Students will use thumbs up/thumbs sideways to evaluate their work with Smart Partners. Chester's Way is a sweet book about two friends named Chester and Wilson that do everything together and are very similar. When Lilly moves into the neighborhood things change a bit because she is so different. At first the boys aren't sure if they want to be friends with her, but through a twist in the plot they realize what a great friend she could be after all.

All of the galleries feature a range of interactive models, screens, and activities to make visits to The Grosvenor Museum as interesting and enjoyable as can be! Have you ever disliked someone? My son currently has two boys in one of his classes that he doesn't like AT ALL. The relationship reminds me a bit of Chester and Lilly. The two boys in his class are very different from him and a little bit hard to like because they don't treat him very nicely. Chester is a creature of habit. He always does things in very precise ways and he likes his routine and so does his best friend Wilson. Wilson, Chester's best friend, is exactly like Chester. They enjoy the companionship and their shared preferences. Then Lilly moves into the neighborhood. Lilly frightens and appalls the very conventional duo with her exuberance, her outlandish disguises and loud proclamations. They avoid her and reject her offers of friendship. Then, when Chester and Wilson are being harassed by some older children, Lilly comes to their rescue and they first tentatively and then wholeheartedly accept her friendship. Lilly opens up many avenues of adventure for Chester and Wilson and they find, to their amazement, that the three have much in common. All is going swimmingly until Victor prances into the neighborhood and there the author leaves us. In terms of accessibility, only the Lady Diana and Mark Twain can accommodate wheelchairs. However, disabled toilets are not present due to size limitations. From a delicious afternoon tea, toclassics with a modern twist at La Brasserie, to refined dining the Cestrian way at Arkle... The Grosvenor is proud to offer a selection of dining experiences. These simple activities helped us have a lot of active fun with Chester's Way while learning and reviewing some useful skills. We can't wait to see what activities the other Virtual Book Club participants came up with to go along with the Kevin Henkes books they chose! READ: Chester's iconic Rows pictured down the years in fascinating archive photos The Rows are a unique and distinctive feature of the city’s heritage Today, I am going to stop a few times as I read the story and then ask you to turn and talk to your partner. Your Smart Partner job will be to share one important event from what you just heard in the story. You and your parnter may choose different events or might have the same idea. Either way is fine. I want you to start your conversation with this thinking stem, 'I'm thinking...'. Add this speech bubble to the Smart Partners anchor chart if it isn't already there. My job is to read the story. Who can remind us of what your job is? Allow student responses about the task and being a good listener/partner. Let's get started. Listen carefully as I read. You can also just have your child draw his own versions of faces using his imagination! Tell him to make them different and then discuss the differences. Then try the same thing but have him make faces that are alike instead. My son's favorite part of this activity was wiping off the face and starting over again.
