This one kept my niece and nephew engaged and was the perfect springboard to further discussions about our new King, the succession and what it means to be a royal child. This book is not exploiting these recent events but helping our children make sense of another child who made a lasting impression in life. I absolutely love the Little People, Big Dreams Series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara. I think her books are wonderful for children and expand each’s vision of life’s possibilities. Yet, her books are not just for children, I always love reading them as an adult. Every time I read about a person, I learn something new. Overnight, the young princess became queen of kingdoms all over the world, from England to faraway South Africa.”

This problem is significant enough that I'm dropping a star, especially since it would have been so easy for the author to mention the Queen's faith while talking about her legacy of service. If someone is interested in a picture book biography that does mention the role of Christianity in the Queen's life, I would recommend Queen Elizabeth II: The Queen Who Choose To Serve, a recent release from a Christian publisher. However, a book should not have to come from a faith-based publisher to mention someone's deepest beliefs and values. That said, I'm glad the book not only ended on a happy note but didn't go into the royal shenanigans and issues the Queen faced during her long reign. This is a book for young readers, aimed at simply introducing them to a prominent figure and no need to taint that experience. Bad stuff happens to all of us, so appreciate the focus on her life and accomplishments. Elizabeth traveled overseas more than 250 times, receiving the most unusual gifts, from a pair of cowboy boots to an elephant called Jumbo. However, nothing felt better than sleeping on the same bed all summer at Balmoral Castle!”Of course there was much that was enjoyable, and I remember plenty of pictures of her smiling and laughing with genuine pleasure. Little Lilibet became not only Britain's longest-reigning monarch but also a wonderful, warm woman.

Meanwhile, World War II is underway, and she trained as a driver and mechanic. After the war, when she was only twenty-one, the country celebrated her marriage to Prince Philip. The book tells us she saved her ration coupons for the fabric for her wedding dress. I thought that was a nice touch to her story. At the beginning the series was first published in Spain as Pequeña & GRANDE by Alba Editorial, and now Little People, BIG DREAMS is translated into more than thirty-three languages. Maria Isabel likes to think the success of the series relies on the fact that children love to read real stories about other children’s experiences, lives and journeys. It gives them the strength and the courage to believe in themselves and dream BIG. As The Independent once said: “What a cool way to drift off to sleep.” Sadly, she lost her father shortly after and was stunned to discover she was it – the next head of state.

I love this book and the entire series consisting of 110 wonderful books for readers ages 4-7. Queen Elizabeth ll was a much beloved queen whose reign lasted 70 years. She was Britain's longest-reigning monarch. She became queen when she was young and took her title and duties very seriously. She was not the typical queen or princess found in fairytales but had to give up many desires and personal aspirations to serve her subjects. She pledged to dedicate her whole life, however long it would be, for the good of others and she faithfully fulfilled that vow. The story is really well done and it is a lovely little tribute, it doesn't cover the Queens passing in the book as it was written ahead of that happening. The illustrations are lovely and whilst they are not as like like as some in the series have been they are great to tell her story.

Two of her corgis dogs and one of her horses attended her state funeral. She learns it is a full-time job with constant demands on her time and attention. No wonder she enjoyed the company of dogs and horses!Little Elizabeth loved dogs and horses and dreamt of living on a farm. But, one day, she heard chants on the streets. Her uncle Edward had renounced the crown, which meant her father would be the next king, and she heiress to the throne. From that day on, she had to learn how to one day be the queen. I was excited to receive a copy about Queen Elizabeth. I think like many people, I wanted to know more about the Queen of the UK, after her passing on September 8, 2022 at the age of 96 years old. Elizabeth was always known for how seriously she saw her sense of duty to the people of her country. She served for 70 years which made her the longest reigning Queen in the world. She was also the most admired, which I just learned reading this book. The illustrations deserve separate praise. There are plenty of corgis on them. Some pictures show altered familiar photographs - the Queen surrounded by her grandchildren and Mia Tindall holding her handbag. I can look at them over and over again.

Queen Elizabeth follows the story of young Lilibet, who would grow up to become Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. Oh, I see, you actually mean Elizabeth II, the most recent Queen of England, and not the person named on the cover. So you mean the dead one, who was still warm in her coffin while this book was being promoted? Well, I'm glad it's out of date for you, then, for parading this around as a digital review copy within days of her passing and when she's still lying in state is shameful.Instead of a quiet life in the country, she unexpectedly became the longest-reigning British monarch and served with remarkable poise and dignity. This was a fascinating book that has so much history to learn and also terrific whimsical information that children are likely to love. The Queen loved animals, so someone sent her an Elephant named Jumbo. The illustrations are beautiful and fun and add to the special quality of this book. I definitely recommend this book for schools, libraries, and book stores.
