Chainsaw Man, vol. 11] (in Japanese). Shueisha. Archived from the original on March 3, 2021 . Retrieved January 19, 2021. Chainsaw Man is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The series' first part, "Public Safety arc" ( 公安編, Kōan-hen), ran in Shueisha's shōnen manga anthology Weekly Shōnen Jump from December 3, 2018, [1] [2] to December 14, 2020; [3] [4] following the series' conclusion in Weekly Shōnen Jump, a second part was announced to start on Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ online magazine. [5] On December 19, 2020, it was announced that the second part, "School arc" ( 学校編, Gakkō-hen), would feature Denji going to school. [6] The second part began serialization on July 13, 2022. [7] [8] Shueisha has collected its chapters into individual tankōbon volumes. The first volume was released on March 4, 2019. [9] As of August 4, 2023, 15 volumes have been released. Chainsaw Man, Vol. 7". Viz Media. Archived from the original on July 9, 2021 . Retrieved June 30, 2021. When Denji is betrayed by someone he trusts, he becomes permeated with the devil’s powers and unleashes them in the form of Chainsaw Man. Part human, part devil, now he has to choose between joining the government agency responsible for hunting down and killing demons, or becoming the prey himself. This is a mostly spoiler-free (there are some context-less images) review of the entire first part of Chainsaw Man (volumes 1-11). My goal is to encourage everyone to read at least as far as volume 3, and preferably (if this review is as persuasive as I’d like it to be) through volume 6 before writing the series off as simple, juvenile, needlessly vulgar, or some combination of all of these. Tatsuki Fujimoto is neither a simple nor juvenile writer, though that doesn’t stop them from indulging in the mindless joy of drawing a chainsaw-armed creature messily murderizing some zombies. But blood-splattered action is by no means all this series has to offer. Chainsaw Man, vol. 9] (in Japanese). Shueisha. Archived from the original on November 3, 2020 . Retrieved September 21, 2020. If you've already watched the anime, the first volume here is virtually identical sans a few minor styling choices and seems to cover episodes 1-3 (well, up to 3/4s of the third episode). There's only 1 particularly noteworthy scene very early on that wasn't included in the anime, and the anime has a few scene extensions vs what's shown in-book.Dear reader, it is completely nuts! Yes, there's the tired trope of the boy obsessing over a girl, but it has some fun with it - the girl basically has no interest in him, and has all the power. As revealed during a Stage Presentation at the 2021 Jump Festa event in Japan, the manga will now focus on Denji attending school and trying to balance his new life with his responsibility as the Chainsaw Man.

And of course there’s action, but if that’s what you came here for then you probably didn’t need to read this review because you already know how good it is.

Chainsaw Man, Vol. 6". Viz Media. Archived from the original on May 1, 2021 . Retrieved May 1, 2021. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man-Chainsaw Man! Pretty much the only 'personality' trait of the main character is that he's desperate to touch some boobs
