In the "Maintenance" section, you can see when you have to replace individual spare parts (brushes, HEPA filters, etc.). Of course, we tested that, too. The little household helper took about 40 minutes for cleaning our 80 m² flat. The battery status was still at about 50 %. Cleaning crumbs is now as easy as “Roomba, clean under the kitchen table”. This intuitive experience only from iRobot means that a request to your voice assistant* or via the iRobot Home App enables the Roomba® i7/i7+ Robot Vacuum to clean up mess for you, right when it happens – immediately clean that spot and consider it done. Type A robot vacuum cleaner only, there are no mopping features here. Its Clean Base means you don’t have to manually empty the bin The mapping system can strangely remember only up to 10 floor plans at a time, which you can name either with set names or custom names. We imagine this is both because iRobot isn’t charging users to store their floor plans in its cloud servers and that its servers only have so much space for everyone’s Roomba i7+ maps. The robot vacuum part of the iRobot Roomba i7+ looks much like any other: you get a round cleaner that’s wider than it is tall. This means it can fit beneath a lot of furniture, but it may be a little too wide to get between some chair legs.You should tap out the HEPA filter once a week over a dustbin or sink. We also recommend replacing the HEPA filter after approx. 4 - 6 months. That’s because the fast-spinning side brush "flung" some light and grainy lentils across the room from time to time. Test result for oat flakes (removed 45g of 50g | 90 %) This alleviates what is arguably the most annoying part of using a robot vacuum: emptying the bin. However, it’s clear that this product introduces a cost of operation that few, if any, other robot vacuums require. The robotic vacuum cleaner hardly reached its limits with the lentils ( short carpet: 94%, long carpet 98%).

While the Clean Base doesn’t take up any more floor space than a regular charger, it’s significantly higher and won’t fit under furniture, so you need to place it somewhere out in the open. You can also set up individualised cleaning schedules. For example, you can let the i7 Plus clean the kitchen and living room on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 9 a.m. The Roomba i7 Plus doesn’t have an automatic carpet detection function. Thus, it also doesn’t increase the suction power automatically when it drives on a carpet. Roomba i7+ is suitable for pet owners because pet hair can’t wrap itself around the rubber brushes.The " Plus" in the Roomba i7+ stands for the self-emptying dust bin ("Clean Base") that comes with it. The delivery scope doesn’t just include the iRobot Roomba i7+ Robot Vacuum and the relatively large and very cool clean base. iRobot also added several accessories. To see how well the iRobot Roomba i7+ can clean, I put it through Trusted’s standard set of tests. First, I sprinkled an ‘X’ of flour onto my test carpet. Although the i7+ moved over the area properly, it wasn’t powerful enough to pull up all of the mess. As you can see from the pictures below, the robot cleared the top-level dirt, but couldn’t pull out the final traces of flour that were deeper in the carpet pile.
