The effect models are also a bit hit or miss, with some silly limitations (like having one good delay and four really basic ones). I do though tend to find myself on my knees quite a lot for making adjustments - while a proper Bluetooth App would allow me to do all that standing up! The cabinet microphone models and their virtual distances and off‑axis positions can be changed in any of the output modes. Would I need to have two signal paths with identical fx ie delays reverbs and some modulation type fx After the amp blocks in that scenario?

In patch mode, the GT‑1000’s display has three separate screens showing the current patch’s name and number (either of which can be set to be the largest and most easily visible on screen), its onboard footswitch and expression pedal control assignments, and its amplifier/effects signal chain. I have owned a number of digital effect boards in the past (Vox's, the G-System, Firehawk HD, Helix). The factory patches in the GT‑1000 (even if they are a little over‑effected in some cases) do sound very good to me, particularly those that use the Boss’s original amplifier models.

I created a template patch which I use when building a new one, and in that patch I took one of the dividers, threw all the unused blocks into it and then bypassed them, leaving just the ones I want at the front. Itll then start showing note values (whole, halves quarters, 8ths, 16ths plus dotted and triplets for each).

I was aware of the High Fidelity 32 Bit processing power and 24 Simultaneous effects ability, but for some reason, I had not clocked that the CORE came without the GT-1000’s Bluetooth App Connectivity, and that it contained just 2 of the 1000’s 3 Control Modes - Memory and Manual, while it was missing the ’Pedalboard’ option. Matt and Mark from Boss recommended using the CENTA OD also as a boost - in conjunction with the Guv'nor.

The parameters that can be edited in this display mode by the six rotary controllers are common to all screens — Patch up/down, Gain, Bass, Treble, BPM Tempo and Patch Volume Level. I’m thinking that I might want to have one output going to a the input of a real amp( cleanish fender hot rod deluxe) and another feed going to a frfr speaker or to pa desk.

This is one of those articles that’s been a long-time coming, and where I needed to spend a rather large chunk of time getting fully under the skin of the pedal in question - the really quite superb, but also somewhat slightly flawed Boss GT-1000 CORE Guitar Effects Processor. I can totally understand the need for certain limitations - and while you have broader coverage of gain effects here and can apply them as Boost or Main, Parallel or Series - you cannot though include all 3 Fuzz voicings on a single patch. If you need more switches…add 2 analog switches via the ctrl inputs…or use an expression pedal (I use it for delay lvl)…are add a small midi controller….

A USB socket allows the GT‑1000 to be connected to a Mac or Windows computer, although to do this on either platform a driver has to be downloaded.
