Description

The SP30 is supplied with LED lighting making the microscopes truly portable. The 240 volt LED system is supported by internal rechargeable batteries, and the recharging plug transformer is supplied. An overnight charge will allow a full 8 hours use with rheostat brightness control. The SP30/40 microscopes are normally connected to a mains electricity supply. This automatically charges the the internal batteries making the instrument ready for portable use at any time. An excellent innovation. However if battery power is going to be used, do not connect to the mains supply all the time. Use the microscope as you would a mobile phone this enables the microscopes to be used away from an electricity supply for up to 40 hours from one charge - charge the batteries when they need it or remove them and use the mains supply only. It is rare for societies and professional groups to get government to listen and react to their messages, and all credit must go to the BBKA for getting recognition where it counts for two very important facts. Achromatic objectives x4 x10, x40, x100 (oil). Eyepiece x10 wide field. Full mechanical stage with drop down coaxial controls. LED brightness controlled illumination system. An excellent microscope and without equal in its price range. Magnification range x40 to x1000. A carrying case is available as an accessory.

The SP30 Teaching Head has a vertical eyetube behind the viewing eyetube which allows a camera to be attached at the same time. The SX10D has an inbuilt 3M CMOS digital camera. The optical and stand specification are identical to the SX10 with the SX10D having a cowling housing the camera with a USB connection port behind the stereohead. The microscope comes complete with the USB connection cable and software that allows image selection, manipulation and the ability to carry out direct measurement of distances, areas, and angles. Quadruple objective turret with achromatic DIN standard objectives. Coaxial coarse and fine focus controls. Full mechanical stage with coaxial drop down controls and double vernier scales. In addition the microscopes have tension adjustment on the focus mechanism together with a separately operated focus safety stop that protects both objectives and specimen slidesThe SP27 has a modern design with low position coaxial coarse and fine focus controls and a focus safety stop. The Abbe condenser has an iris diaphragm with filter carrier and the base has a very effective field lens that gives a good even field of illumination. These days even toy microscopes have inbuilt battery lighting - for what its worth! However we offer Illumination by rheostat controlled LED lighting. Most notable is that the SP14 comes with its own carrying case which is a significant bonus in reducing price. The SP52 has a full substage which includes an Abbe condenser with an independent focus control (N.A. 1.25) with lateral adjustment, iris diaphragm and filter carrier. DIN standard parfocal objectives. The high power objectives have retractable front lenses for slide safety. The SP22 microscope is also available with an inbuilt digital camera (SP22D). The SP22D has the same optical performance and mechanical build as the SP22 but incorporated into the microscope is a 1.3M pixel (1280 x1024) CMOS chip digital camera. The camera system is enclosed within the head and shares the image with the eyepiece. The camera element is attached to a laptop or PC via an USB lead. When the slide is in focus with the standard eyepiece it will also be in focus on the computer. Supplied with the microscope is the USB lead and software that is suitable for Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11 (not suitable for Apple operating system). Step by step instructions are provided that require relatively little computer knowledge to get things working. The software allows still image and video capture along with specimen measurement. The Brunel SP27 is an established microscope in our series for student and amateur use. This is an extremely versatile instrument with excellent LED illumination that allows the instrument to be used away from an electricity supply. An excellent specification including rotating monocular head with a x10 widefield eyepiece, four position turret with x4, x10, x40 and x100(oil) achromatic objectives together with a good sized full mechanical stage with coaxial drop down controls and a double vernier scale.

The SP22/21 microscopes have many features that are normally found on microscopes of a much greater price. The objectives are made from achromatic corrected glass and are standard Royal Microscopical Society (RMS) size. The monocular head rotates trough 360° and has a widefield x10 good quality eyepiece. Four position objective turret with a precise internal indexing mechanism. Parfocal DIN standard plan objectives x4, x10, x40, x100 (oil), matched with extremely widefield plan x10 eyepieces. x20 and x60 objectives are available as accessories. The microscope head is rotatable through 360 degrees and has full dioptric and interocular adjustment. The trinocular head has a sliding prism that diverts the light alternatively between the trinocular tube and the binocular eyetubes. The Brunel SP52 is probably pound for pound the best value compound microscope in our range. This instrument bridges the gap between microscopes best suited for amateur and professional use. Standard features include a quadruple nosepiece turret with achromatic objectives x4, x10, x40 and x100 (oil). Matched with x10 wide field eyepieces gives the SP52 a magnification range of x40 to x1000. The SP52 has a coaxial coarse and fine focus mechanism, with tension control and focus stop. This is a good sized microscope with a robust stand well suited for the rigours of educational use or commercial applications whilst being ideal for the serious amateur microscopist. It also has the additional features of an adjustable focus stop and tension arrangement Objectives x4, x10, x40 and x100 (oil immersion). Eyepiece x10 wide field. Magnification range x40 to x1000. Monocular. x10 widefield eyepiece. DIN standard objectives x4. x10, x40, x100 (oil). Magnification range x40 - x1000. Full substage condenser. Inbuilt 240 volts halogen illumination or LED depending on choice. Mechanical stage. Extremely good value for money. The SP52 trinocular is a modern microscope with an LED light source with rheostat brightness control. The good size mechanical stage has drop down coaxial controls with a double vernier scale location system. Because of the laws of optical physics, the x100 objectives of all biological microscopes need to be used with oil between the bottom lens of the objective and the coverslip of the specimen to ensure a clear image. This immersion oil has the same refractive index as glass and has to be used Experience has shown us that not all applications (especially those used in schools) need the x100 oil immersion lens particularly with wet preparations such as pond life specimens. We have this microscope in two versions, one with a x100 oil immersion lens to give a x1000 maximum magnification (SP22) and one without but with two different magnification eyepieces (x10 and x20) that will give a maximum magnification of x800 without the need for immersion oil (SP21). In all other respects the microscopes are identical.

The LED illumination has a rheostat control that gives excellent lighting well suited to the requirements of the x100 objective. This can be used either directly attached to a 240v electricity supply or can be run from the integral battery system that will give up to 48 hours continuous use between charging which happens automatically when the unit is plugged in.This is a unique optical accessory, and is an exceptional device for the inquiring naturalist. The unit converts any pair of roof prism binoculars into a fixed magnification stereomicroscope. The controls of the binoculars are used normally. The binoculars are simply placed on the stand and used as a stereomicroscope using the focus controls of the stand itself. The magnification depends on the power of the binoculars. For example 10 x 25 binoculars converts to a x20 stereomicroscope. We also offer a suitable pair of Waltex binoculars (10 x 25) that are fully rubberised with an excellent optical performance
