I've seen you people have done a lot of research into better, newer and more complex models (even ROP chains If I'm not wrong!) which is amazing. How could I apply some of that knowledge to reverse the fx-82MS? I've read something about official casio emulators? On pressing these keys it ended up to a screen displaying 8888888888 and no keys work here except Shift and [on] the most interesting thing is that he found that the hardware beneath the buttons is in fact a matrix keyboard. There are more pins (keyboard combinations) that were actual buttons in the calculator, so he analyzed that and found that some combinations can be triggered to directly activate extra modes from the superior model. I have a hardware setup for that I'll show off as soon as possible. The software layer is still pretty much unexplored, so that's why I'm here I know about that glitch (and some other ones), all of them involves pressing '0' before '1'. Because only '0' works (and nothing else) I suspect that's an Easter egg Casio left in the calculator. Not only the display settings are kept, but also the last used mode is still active, but will be in a broken state.

Scientific calculators are the best -when we know how to use them-, but not all are the same. I've owned one for years, since I started college, and at the time I bought the one that fit my needs, the Casio fx-82ES. While going further with my career I started to use complex numbers (among other things), and it's a heavy math to do on a non-complex calculator, and the Casio fx-991es did had it. Its TABLE FUNCTION makes graph work a cinch. No more tedious, error-prone evaluation of functions. This obviously means that more time is spared to teach the Math behind the graph. I'm an owner of several Casio calculators, all from the fx-82MS series. In Spain (where I live) they are very common because they are really cheap. Well, I am currently running a project dedicated to find more bugs and loopholes in the firmwares of these calculators, and we already know the CPU and have decompiled the firmware. Same for me. Even removing the battery doesn't seem to clear the memory completely, I once left the calculator without a battery for a whole day so all capacitors are drained as well, and I still got mixed results.Even more amazing is how its easy-to-use STATISTICS menu crunches data. It is so much fun that I perform statistical analyses of almost any data I come across. This of course means that I can explain better the meanings of these analyses. Video: https://youtu.be/YY19aeKGN1M(Text version is in the description for if you can't follow the video. I've found 1 other video adapting my method: https://youtu.be/t583XTyuEnkall others use the method you've used. To me, CASIO fx-82EX symbolizes a revolution in Mathematics teaching (and learning). Its display of input and results expressions is exactly as in textbooks. Add this to its unabbreviated icon menu, additional set of functions and a high-resolution LCD screen and I would not ask for a more interactive, user-friendly, versatile classroom friend.

As long no one has found a way to look at all the memory externally, we cannot really be sure if all memory is cleared. FX-95MS differs from FX-82MS in the MODE button connection: K14-K23 instead of K14-K24. Change this connection and you will get those modes. Hello! I started a project aimed to find bugs in the firmware of the fx-ES PLUS models. Would you like to contribute? The calculator model that you are using now is not the right one unfortunately, we look at the fx-(82/991)ES PLUS. That is marvelous and insane. It does occur to me that since this is very clearly a mask-rom CPU that's understandably being used in several products, that almost certainly there's a pin or two that's tied high or low to configure it. Rewiring that pin would be an awful lot easier. However, I see it's a chip-on-board, which may make that impossible. Anyway yeah, someone figuring outthat buffer overflow is beyond crazy. This occurs because the teachers and the students don't have any knowledgment about calculators, for example, a fx-991ES plus or an used graphing calculator are cheap also(I got my fx-9750G for 3€ used), and have many functions more. I invite you to post here all your research in this model. I've splitted your post from the other thread, because it is other model. This is for organization reasons. To help the users to find your post easiliy. trigonometry: result of sin -1(cos -1(tan -1(tan(cos(sin(60°)))))), reference value: 60. 60.0000049383 Notes: The Casio fx-82 series started with the Casio fx-82, an ordinary scientific calculator. But But Casio kept extending this line, turning it not into just a model number but a whole calculator series. Trying to make it the non-programmable scientific calculator for school use.

Last but not least, it comes with an emulator software which when used with a pc and a projector enables me to demonstrate an operation to the entire class at once. This is unlike before where I often had to move around explaining the steps to individual learners on their calculators. It has done wonders on the efficiency of my lessons in another way: With the emulator I can easily prepare exams. Since ClassWiz calculators are products used for many years as learning tools, the keys are made of a material that offers high durability and resistance to print peeling. If that doesn't solve the problem, then you can consider replacing the calculator with a modern equivalent. There has been a great deal of value to me in my involvement with the project. Would like to share it with the reverse vat calculatorteam so they can also read it and implement something new. The columns and rows names k* and ki* aren't just because, but Those are the names labeled in the calculator board, so I kept them to make things easier. I really understand the popularitiy of this calculator in Spanish classes, I have studied ESO and Bachillerato in a highschool in a town in Málaga, and almost everyone had the fx-82MS.

The fx-82l variation came fitted into a hard plastic case which completely enclosed it protecting it well. This time, Casio had realised that the batteries never ran out, so this model had them fixed inside the machine. You could replace them, but it involved taking the machine apart. And then, after opening a hole on the calc case, pass the cables (flat cable was my choice) and solder them to a connector. Care must be taken with the names, or you'll have to redo all the config_key.sh file to match the code and the atmega board. So anyways I got a Casio fx-82MS 2nd edition and a 100MS. Unfortunately these are the ones which are all patched up. I came across this situation recently and ended up with a screen which I guess needed a secret code to access. Maybe these are only for the Devs. The materials used in ClassWiz series calculators comply with European RoHS environmental regulations, an international standard. Functionally identical to the Casio fx-82D, except for the larger display, hence the L designation.
