Specification: Power: 1400W, Cutting Heights: 1.1-3.1 cm , Cutting Width: 25 cm, Cable Length: 10m, Foldable Handles: Yes, Grass Box Capacity: Non-Collect, I’ve also noticed that you’ll need to strim the edges after. It won’t quite go right up but of course, that’s what a strimmer is designed for! Flymo Mighti-Mo 300 Li Cordless Battery Lawn Mower Review Best alternative: Rotak 43 LI Ergoflex Cordless Lawn Mower– if the Makita unavailable this is my go next go to.

Without question the best Bosch cordless lawn mower is the Bosch Rotak 43 LI Ergoflex Cordless Lawn Mower. It’s the most powerful in their range, and if I had to compare it in performance to a normal a normal Bosch electric lawn mower, I would choose to compare it with the Bosch Rotak 34 R Electric Rotary Lawn Mower. The Flymo Turbo Lite 250 Electric Hover Lawnmower won the best electric lawn mower for small gardens as well the hover mower category. I’m afraid there’s not a lot I can do if Flymo are out front when it comes to value and small gardens! In fact they won everything budget pretty much. You just can’t seem to beat them for price to performance and I guess that’s what comes from years of testing, research, and development. Here’s a look at the old 250: FLYMO 250 – the olden days Performance wise this is now up there with a mid sized petrol. As I mentioned a few years ago on my cordless lawn mower review, I for-see a day petrol is a thing of the past, it’ll just come down to battery tech. I must have had a crystal ball that day as we are now there. You’ll motor your way through three or four inch grass, and don’t think this lawn mower light weight and flimsy like most cordless lawn mowers. This is fairly heavy so factor that when you look for a place in the shed. Changing the depth of cut is really easy. You just adjust it via the lever on top. The battery charges fast enough. It weighs 15kg so can be pushed around pretty comfortably and has a really cool mulching feature as well. It also has an anti vibration system that appears to work well too. I feel like the ride is comfortable so to speak. It has two battery options, 2Ah or 4Ah. If you’re doing heavy work don’t skimp, buy big batteries. I have not reviewed the version with batteries on purpose, as it’s for sale with only a 2Ah batteries. Even for light work stump up and buy the big ones. Honestly, that’s a real pro tip!Specification: Engine: 4-stroke OHV / 196 cc / 3.1 HP, Cutting Width: 20 inches, Cutting Heights: 0.98-2.95 inches, Fuel Tank Capacity: 0.26 gal / 1L Tip #2 Give your grass adequate water - The season and the soil type are the two factors that determine how much water will be required for the lawn. During the hot summer months, watering is obviously more important than the wintertime. Choose the early morning for watering if possible, as this will minimize wasting water and evaporation. If it happens to rain abundantly during the night, you can have a water supply for two weeks with no watering required. Try not to water your lawn at night, as this promotes fungus and insect problems. Q3: Does Makita Corded ELM3311X 1100W 33cm Electric Mower collect all of the clippings or does it leave a lot behind? If it wasn’t, then why bother with a huge collection box similar in size to normal mains powered electric lawn mowers? It’s easily the best Bosch cordless lawn mower and if not for the Makita, I would be all over this model myself. Ryobi cordless lawn mower So without any hesitation at all, I personally believe the Makita DLM380Z cordless lawn mower is the best battery lawn mower out there. If you have any evidence or data contrary to mine, please send it in and I am willing to change the article if I can be convinced otherwise. My own research and use however, points to the Makita! Best electric lawn mower for a medium garden [cheap]: Flymo Speedi-Mo 360C Electric Wheeled Lawn Mower Talking of batteries they are well protect under the cover – no problems with that and the battery gauge is plenty helpful too – just press the button and you can see where you’re at power wise – useful if you’re planning your garden cut. This applies to all cordless lawn mowers though so not a design fault from Ryobi. Apart from that, it’s a very sensible bit of kit to cut your lawn and eliminates the need for power cords and petrol engines. Ryobi OLM1833H ONE+ 18V Lawnmower Review If you use other Makita tools and have batteries already, then you can choose the bare tool only option and save money that way. Makita DLM380Z -ruohonleikkuri toimii kahdella Makitan 18 V:n akulla. Akkukäyttöinen leikkuri kuuluu laajaan Makita 18 V -akkukoneperheeseen, jossa on jo yli 120 eri laitetta. Laitteen akut on saatavilla erikseen.

I’m pleased to say I was able to restore balance in the categories heading toward medium to larger gardens where Flymo become far less efficient – but they absolutely dominate for price and small/mid sized gardens combined, no question about that! Specification: Engine: B&S 300 E OHV / 125 cc, Cutting Width: 39 cm, Cutting Heights: 2.5-7 cm, Grass Box Capacity: 40 L, The Makita DLM380Z is an affordable electric motor with plenty of convenient features on offer. The DLM380 is the latest cordless lawn mower from Makita that has a powerful 36v DC motor, powered by 2x 18v Lithium-Ion batteries, allowing you to use your existing power tool batteries. Powered by two 18V Li-ion batteries in series to supply energy to the powerful 36V DC motor drive system Power-wise, petrol lawn mowers win hands down. Although electric lawn mowers have become more powerful over the years, they still can’t compete with something that’s fitted with an engine. Electric lawn mowers are great for small gardens but for a larger lawn, or one with tough grass, weeds and other debris, a petrol lawn mower is the best choice. They are the professionals choice and used commercially – only the Makita cordless battery version that I am aware of is now used commercially. The Makita DLM380 is a cost-competitive 380mm cordless lawn mower powered by two 18V Li-ion batteries in series. Ideal for cutting lawns from 270-540m² in size. The Makita DLM431Z uses 2 x 18 V Lithium-ion batteries. These are connected in series to deliver a powerful 36 V to the motor that gives you up to 36,000 RPM. This gives you sufficient power for most situations and conditions in a medium to large garden. The blades are easy enough to adjust and had cutting heights from 25-65mm which is more than adequate. The handle folds away and stores neatly. The cordless lawn mower itself is lightweight at 9.9kg and very easy to use. A nice little feature is the safety key, which if removed will totally immobilise the unit. Very handy if you have kids not quite old enough to understand and need to leave the mower unattended. Best cordless lawn mower: Makita DLM380Z Manual 36V Cordless Lawn Mower or the DLM382Z if there’s no bargain prices- superb for medium sized gardens, absolutely the best of the best. [tested and proven]

Grass Box - The mower has a 40 litre grass box. Large grass boxes mean more time can be spent mowing and less time wasted emptying it. The bag has a grass level indicator so that you know when to empty it. Another advantage of electric lawn mowers is they don’t give off emissions like petrol models. With the threat of global warming possibly flooding our gardens with melted ice from the poles, it’s probably a good idea to be a bit environmentally conscious these days. Here’s a nice video to give you some ideas too: If you keep your lawn cut every couple of weeks or so this will be a great tool. It’s just not designed for the heavier work. WORX cordless lawn mowers are pretty powerful for your average small garden. They also are not very clear about about battery life. I would say the 2Ah batteries will give you a solid 15 to 20 minutes and probably cut just under 150m2 in one go. But, they will do that very well and it’s a solid buy. WORX WG779E.2 Cordless Lawn Mower Review If you have limited storage space, then the ability of the handles to be folded down will certainly help in compact spaces in your shed.

You have the added benefit of all the freedom that comes from a petrol lawn mower, with a good chunk of the power a corded electric lawn mower offers. Basically, apart from the brute power offered by a petrol lawn mower, cordless lawn mowers take all the benefits of both petrol and electric mowers and combine them together giving the best of both worlds.
