Really Nasty Horse Racing Game
- Brand: Unbranded
Description
I remember in some past discussions on F:AT about alternative cards...that would be useful, I think, if there would be any tweaks or home rules. Do you honestly have what it takes to be Really Nasty? Try this game out and find out just how nasty you can be. I promise, you will have blast and so much fun. Do you want your horse to win, if not, what strategies do you put in place? Do you make your horse fall over or, was you not happy with how the race went and demanded a restart? There are things to watch: long shots can pay off hugely and if someone bets high they can really get ahead - you have to keep in mind which race is being run for how much prize money, who has how much funds they are likely to bet and trying to stop them if you can. I'm not sure that a runaway leader can be stopped once they pull off a huge bet. But they call it a long shot for a reason.
Someone will need to be chosen as the bookmaker as they will need to take control of the game. We each threw the dice and whoever scored the highest became the bookmaker. Whilst the age range is 12 and over, I suggest being mindful at just how nasty, conniving, deceitful etc. people may get playing this game and if you are worried about upsetting any children playing, then you might not want the to join in. If like us, we did play with the grandchildren but did not play the nasty side of our strategies and was far less cunning. We wanted to the children to enjoy the game have some fun but also teach them about game plans and strategies without being too nasty or conniving. Not sure what game to buy next? Whether it’s a rainy Sunday afternoon or a raucous festive treat, nothing brings family and friends together quite like a board game. From traditional board game favourites like Monopoly, Scrabble and Cluedo to modern board games like Balderdash, Scatergories and Taboo. Themed Games Can you be cold hearted, ruthless, destructive and double crossing whilst bluffing at the same time? Great online store for board games. They always arrive perfectly and undamaged which is important to me. I am extremely competitive, think monopoly for frustration and competitiveness and times that by 10, this game really did bring the worst out it me. Where the game gets really interesting (or really nasty) is with the race event cards. These allow players to influence the race beyond dice roles and horse grades. Cards can be used to turn a horse around the wrong way, force them to re-start the race, cause them to fall over at the fences or just have them collapse in the middle of the flat. There are also defensive cards to allow remounts and, in the tumultuous final race, cards that can disrupt or even alter the final outcome such as objections and photo finishes.
Many other games also come in luxury versions so you can upgrade your favourite in style. Traditional Games Even if a player's horse passes the finish line, the celebrations may need to be delayed. There are Really Nasty Cards which can call for a photo finish (if another horse is able to finish in one dice roll after the winner) or for a Stewards Enquiry. These can completely alter the outcome of the race.
