Description

The title "The Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies" is a play on the German fairy tale "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" by the Brothers Grimm. Princess of the Moonlight Forest, please save my five brothers. We will vow our loyalty to you in return for your kindness,” begged a deformed pygmy who had just popped up from behind the branches.

But, one pygmy got the Prince and hoped to bring her to the Princess to heal. It is unknown whether it was his loyalty or his fear of the curse that made him do this. That foolish princess is now in chains. I destroyed the Moonlight Kingdom and cursed her people before her eyes. They will be in an undead state, lingering at the point between life and death forevermore. No soul and no moonlight." The words of the Night Mother landed like cold raindrops on a forgotten tomb. Rather than take credit for someone else's work, i'll redirect you to their observations and findings.

The Night Mother left the pygmy to wallow in grief. But first — whether out of some hitherto unknown sense of pity, or simply to see him suffer more, we shall never know — the Night Mother left a glimpse of hope for the wretched pygmy. Swamp blazing with dark flames sounds like natlan. And Sumeru is also overgrown with mushrooms. That means from Snezhnaya, they traveled through Natlan and then Sumeru, so what Kingdom of Pygmies did they reach? After Sumeru there is Liyue, and the Geo Archon governs this place, the deformed pygmy.

Also, this just raises more questions about the Gnoses. Is this why the archons are so unhesitant on handing over their Gnosis? And is this the “misfortune” of holding the Gnosis that Skirk was telling Neuvillette? Recently, through Scaramouche's story quest and Nahida's fairy tale, we've also learned that they can be used to store information in a way to preserve it from irminsul changes. In the past years we had basically no idea why the Tsarista had been collecting the Gnoses. But after the lore drop about the gnoses being the Third Descender’s corpse, it’s likely that she is collecting them to revive the Third Descender. And this would tie in suspiciously perfectly with the quotes from Book V and VI. We do not know enough of the Pyro and Hydro archon to know what they could have truly needed, but we know that Venti did not need anything and only sighed at the other pygmies' propositions, siding with them but seeing them as betrayal:

The Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies (VII)

All Snezhnayan NPCs we see have bright blue eyes, this is unlike other nations' NPCs. This also applies to Childe, the only playable character from Snezhnaya. A fairytale story that has been told throughout Teyvat for ages. The final installment brings everything to a conclusion, and includes the Night Mother's prophecy.

Timid Pygmy: Murata, the God of War. She tries to prove her strength by fighting a giant monster. She also wanted to fight the prince. I think it's also important that the Pygmies are described as evil and almost beastly, meanwhile the tsaritsa is a Princess who everyone loved. In a way, it tries to show the people we know as the betrayers, while the abyss, the ones we know as the villains, are shown as the one who didn't lose their objective from sight from the very beginning.

The Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies (II)

Finally, let’s go to the seventh and last book, Book VII, where the story comes to a conclusion. There is only one quote I wanted to make note of, where the Night Mother tells the guilty pygmy a prophecy: If the Seelie ancestor and the Prince are the 2nd who came and Seelie Ancestor, that would mean that the Pygmies cannot be archons. The downfall of the Seelie was well before the Archon war. However, we do have one archon alive today who was alive during the time of the Moon Sisters and Seelie. The Primordial One and one of its shades created the birds of the air, the beasts of the earth, and the fish of the sea. Together, they also created flowers, grass, and trees, before finally creating humans The poison had sent the Prince into a coma as the Pale Princess slept. The six pygmies' scheme started to unfold. The Pale Princess lived in the moonlight forest, the only place free from the night mother's rule. Similary, Seelie were known to have lived in palaces in the Dark Sea, outside of the dominion of Phanes,
