Description

Moccamaster coffee machines are made with high-quality materials, ensuring your coffee machine will last as long as possible. To ensure the quality of the filter coffee machines, Moccamaster offers a 5-year warranty on every machine. So you can enjoy the perfectly brewed coffee and beautiful design even longer. The filter with coffee grounds can simply be put in the compost bin. So you don't have any plastic or aluminium waste.

Moccamasters come with either an automatic drip stop (indicated by a ‘G’) or a manual drip stop (no ‘G’). The drip stop is a mechanism that controls the flow of coffee out of the brew basket and into the carafe. It’s essentially a valve at the bottom of the basket that can be open or closed, or in the case of the manual drip stop, half-open. Moccamaster manual vs. auto drip stop The Moccamaster KBGV Select keeps coffee warm with an independent hot plate that adjusts the temperature depending on how much is brewed. It'll hover between 175°F and 185°F, then automatically shut off after 100 minutes. Technivorm Moccamaster KBGV Select: DesignNetherlands is known for many things including an authentically chilled environment (puff puff), cycling, canals and even waffles, but an area that sometimes gets overlooked is its love for great coffee. More specifically, being home to one of the best home brewer brands on the market Technivorm Moccamaster. An Ultimate Coffee maker When the coffee stops dripping, your brew is done. Dispose of your coffee grounds and enjoy your coffee while you read our brief history of the Moccamaster. The story of Technivorm Moccamaster Just because the Moccamaster has sophisticated engineering doesn’t mean it’s hard to use. The process is just the same as with most drip coffee makers. A Dutch engineer and industrial designer by the name of Gerard-Clement Smit founded Technivorm in the Netherlands in 1964. He had mostly been designing ladders and such, but he came across a coffee maker he thought he could improve upon, and in 1968 created the first Moccamaster. It's difficult to find fault with the Technivorm Moccamaster KBGV Select because while it only does one thing (make a single pot of coffee), it does it very well.

A Moccamaster should be the last brewer you’ll ever buy,” Smit once said. The company of about 200 employees has been guided by those words ever since. North Americans won’t even have to decide. Your only choice will be between the KBGT and the KBT, so let’s get to the bottom of that ‘G’! One has it, one doesn’t. This is all about the drip stop. The hot plate stays at a steady temperature for over an hour-and-a-half. That makes it easy to grab a couple cups of coffee throughout the morning without worrying about it going cold. KB: The manual-adjust stop on the KB’s brew basket allows you to control the brewing speed or stop it entirely as it flows into the carafe. This brewer is a good option for those who like to be more hands-on with their coffee brewing process and don’t consistently brew a full carafe every day. 1.25L / 40 oz capacity. On the KBGV, this switch automatically adjusts the brewing parameters based on whether you’re brewing a half carafe or a full carafe of coffee. (The ‘V’ stands for volume.)

KBGV Select: The selector switch on the KBGV Select allows you to choose between brewing a half or full carafe. The brewing speed and hotplate temperature adjust according to your choice, brewing either amount to the Golden Cup standard. The automatic brew basket stop stops the flow of coffee when removing the carafe. 1.25L / 40 oz capacity. Now you’re all set. Turn on the power. If you have a hotplate model with two settings, choose your setting—usually the hotter one, unless you’re brewing a really small batch and don’t need it to keep warm for long. So the KBGV model described above has a rectangular body column (KB), automatic drip stop (G) and volume control (V). The absence of a T means it has a glass carafe rather than thermal steel, and the absence of an H means it has two hotplate temperature settings (which you’d only find in Europe anyway).

I'll admit to having been spoiled by the delay brew features on Ninja's feature-laden machines and would have liked to been able to wake up to a fresh pot of coffee waiting for me with the KBGV Select. On the other hand, the Moccamaster can brew a half carafe of coffee in less than five minutes so this isn't a big deal.Cup-One: The Cup-One is a single-serve brewer that makes a 10 oz cup of coffee. It’s an excellent alternative to pod machines as it’s a sustainable choice and allows you to brew your favorite coffee one cup at a time using Moccamaster technology.

The Moccamaster KBGT includes a stainless steel thermal jug and a glass inner bottle. This keeps a full jug of coffee hot to 80°C for up to 3 hours! After 8 hours, the temperature of the coffee is even 50°C. So whether you work indoors or outdoors, from now on you will always enjoy a hot, tasty cup of coffee. A must-have for the true coffee drinker! Moccamaster's filter coffee machine brews around 1.25L of coffee, allowing you to brew 10 cups of coffee. Ideal for coffee lovers who brew larger quantities of coffee in a day.

This is purely a cosmetic difference. They’re going to brew the same coffee, so if you have access to both, it’s just a matter of deciding which look you like best. The ideal Moccamaster coffee scoop ratio is six scoops per litre of water. The machine comes with a scoop that carries about 10 grams (2 tablespoons), so you’ll want six of those (60 grams) for every litre of water. Seven scoops if you’re brewing the full 10 cups. Here the folks at Seattle Coffee Gear try a taste test using a glass-carafe Moccamaster and a steel-carafe model, drinking the coffee one hour after brewing to see if they can taste a difference. They come to the same conclusion: Improved design on previous models that includes a thermal steel flask that can retain heat and keep coffee tasting good for an hour before going noticeably stale. You can also go with the even cheaper Braun Brew Sense Drip Coffee Maker, which allows for single-cup brewing and has a programmable 24-hour timer.
