Description

This audiobook reminds millions of motorcyclists why their bike gives them the freedom to be exactly who they want to be: to say 'I'm doing my thing'. Overcoming her initial fear, she silently hides food from the family dinner table to take to the man or woman (we never discover).

Anyone who enjoys shows like she'd and hurried will like this book and the insights to bike builds, speed records and people featured on the programmes. His great-uncle Redbeard’s corrugated iron shed was ‘stuffed to the gills with old motorbikes’ which Henry helped rebuild and ride. Unspoken gifts of humanity unite the girl and the runaway as they each face a journey: one following the North Star, the other following her heart. Described as "a clever agitator, and a public spirited fellow", he waged many campaigns, moving from the Public Records to the Penny Post, to railway expansion, to patent law revision, to art and design reform. Absolutely loved this book, I bought it to read as I really enjoy Henry’s TV shows - his engaging personality and great sense of humour come through just the same in this book as they do on screen.Loved every page of this well written, very readable book - a great insight into all things bike but also one man’s fascinating journey from outsider despair to finding happiness by doing what he loves.

What fascinated me was working out the expressions of the girl’s family: Did they know what the girl was doing? You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Moving and emotionally charged, the book is capped with a powerful close-up of the child's face on the rear cover with the legend “What would you do if you had the chance to help a person find freedom? A BIKER'S LIFE is the dramatic, humorous and candid memoir of one of the most recognisable names in motorcycling. Cosy reading, in cold winter nights till your motorcycle waiting in the garage for new season and new trips.

Since then, Henry’s life can be charted through the bikes and journeys he has been on – from a stifling public-school education, via many years battling addiction, to the big-sky iconic routes Henry has ridden for over twenty series as presenter of numerous TV shows. Many of these feature Allen Millyard and in the main are produced by his own production company, HCA Entertainment. The book kept me interested to read what happens next, the next story, the next description of his vehicle collection, bikes or cars or motorabilia. Over the course of a day, big brother Albert manages his interactions with his little brother Baxter and the feelings that result, in this relatable romp through the alphabet. In this beautiful wordless picture book, Spot the cat finds a dog named Dot who’s off on her own adventure through the city!

In a ruminative afterword, Cole reflects on his Virginia family’s own connections to the war and, though silent about the signal quilt he hangs on the farmyard’s fence in the illustrations, explains the significance of the Big Dipper visible in the nighttime sky. I have owned and ridden motorcycles before being legally able, my dad taught me how to drive a sidecar outfit and I have watched some of the Henry Cole tv series. It’s a book about mindfulness, it’s a book about how people can turn their lives around even when the chips are down, it’s a book about following your dreams and most of all, it’s a bloody good read.In his new book, which is out next Thursday (17th September), Henry introduces the idea that a shed is a place to sit, a place to fettle and a place to stash, a spiritual refuge and a state of mind. In Henry Cole’s beautifully illustrated sequel to Brambleheart, reminiscent of Brian Jacques’s Redwall and Avi’s Poppy series, Twig’s fantastical adventures continue as he and his animal friends set sail to reunite Char with his dragon family. He started as a news cameraman for channels including ITV and TF1 and progressed to making rockumentaries, primarily with heavy rock bands, [4] then directing TV commercials, and finally directing films, such as the semi-autobiographical Mad Dogs and Englishmen with Elizabeth Hurley.
