The highs are smooth and are not sibilant, so no peeking present as per my experience. It extends relatively well with a decent amount of air. The issue still continues here that I would love if the Cadenza is a bit more exciting/engaging with more sparkle. Tests were done with a Khadas Toneboard DAC -> Schiit Asgard 3 amp, E1DA 9038, Questyle M15, Colorfly CDA M1, Truthear SHIO, Apple dongle, smartphone, Hiby R3 Pro Saber 2022 DAP, Shanling M0 Pro DAP, and Sony NW A-55 DAP (Walkman One mod) using FLAC and WAV files. Cons: they are kinda shouty and splashy, you can hear the excess of energy where upper mids connect to lower treble. I love this set. Reecho added the SG-01 Ova to the market earlier in 2022 without any huge applause, as the Ova was mostly relegated to the few Reecho fanboys out there and some Facebook postings. There wasn’t any hype train either. Which is odd to me because if any set deserved at least some minimal praise, I do believe that the Ova is one of those sets.

Note weight is thinner on the Heart Mirror, and the timbre is less natural. The Heart Mirror are a league or two ahead in technicalities, with superior instrument separation, micro-details, clarity, and imaging. Soundstage is similarly intimate on both pairs of IEMs. When it comes to tonal quality, Kiwi Cadenza takes a mild U-shaped sound profile with some warmth and smoothness but there are some caveats on which I will explain later. Unfortunately, the satisfying tonality and timbre are marred by disappointing technicalities. Indeed, the Cadenza lose out to cheaper rivals in this department. I ended 2022 on a good note and with the aim of 2023 being a good year, I am going to start it on a good note also.Cable gets the job done and is sufficient for the most part. You may always use your preferred cable. A fine set at any priceI try to hide my true feelings a bit as I review but the ‘conclusion area’ is mine to speak on my true feelings from my perspective. I can find an issue with every set that I review, no matter the cost. After all, such is life. Nothing is perfect but my Creator. Still, every now and again something special comes along and breaks apart old paradigms and lately we have seen an overabundance of iems and audio gear which decimates those old archetypes. I’m happy about it to be perfectly honest.

printed manufacturing was utilized for the Cadenza housing. The shells are very light and smooth without any weird protrusions. Ergonomics are top-notch. I had no discomfort whatsoever while putting the Cadenza through their paces. Comfort should not be an issue with the Cadenza. Seems familiar doesn’t it? A healthy amount of bass that tapers off into the lower mids, a generous helping of upper mids to bring vocal clarity, and a sloped off treble that retains some note definition but otherwise gets out of the way to prevent listening fatigue. Of course, looking at the graph is one thing. How does it sound? Different build quality, Metal (C2) vs Plastic (Cadenza), nothing bad or good about it, C2 is solid and a little hefty, Cadenza is light Never would I want to be considered a hype-boy as there are certainly things I would change about the Cadenza, just like any iem out there but if I’m looking at the big picture it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep composure. I say it all the time, I’m simply a big kid and I’m talking about my toys. I don’t consider myself an expert, thankfully, what an odd thing to be an expert of. Something so subjective is this audio hobby that even objectivity is littered in our subjective opinions no matter how hard we try to convince you otherwise. Sure, technicalities are easier to objectively rate and discern but at some point, even those fall victim to the child within us. I type all that to simply say the Kiwi Ears Cadenza is a fine set at the price. The C2 is a bit more V-shaped than the previous IEMs in this article. Specifically, it fills in the 4 - 8 kHz region compared to the Cadenza while maintaining about the same level of bass. Because of this lower treble counterbalance, the C2 ends up sounding leaner and more balanced than the Cadenza which I like. Thus it ends up sounding more like the 7Hz Salnotes Zero, though a little more V-shaped with some treble stridency. Some might find it bright but I think it brings a treble brilliance that the Zero was missing. Interestingly, I don’t find it too sibilant or harsh in the treble despite what the graph might imply. Comparing these two models directly, I would put comfort first, when it comes to insulation, the cadenza is the undisputed leader, but taking into account the fit, the T2 EVO is a safer choice thanks to its unique design. The Cadenza is darker and a bit less resolving. Tin HIFI in the T2EVO model, focusing primarily on a brighter presentation and a stronger accent, shows a bit more details, but the cadenza has a much smoother and creamier presentation. Vocals are the star of the show here and stand out above all else. They’re natural in tone and accurate in size. Just try not to get too carried away with your symphonic jams, because the edges of notes might get a little soft. But at least your ears will be treated to some delicious auditory goodness.
