although daisy was a btec magnolia in her last book, i actually enjoyed her quite a lot here. and christian makes her so much more likable as well. thats bae <3. wouldn’t say i fell in love with her like i hoped i would, but i did warm to her and that’s a start. shes much better written in this book (less mental instability). and her povs are also so much better when you don’t open those despicable footnotes. Oh boy. I'm not even sure where to begin. This was one of my most anticipated releases and it's very upsetting when something doesn't live up to expectations. Truthfully, I started to get a bit nervous about this book once the "promo" for it started, but we will get there. Let's just dive in. Bear with me this is my first time writing a review. I had A LOT to say and this was the only format I could thing to get it all out. and clearly, CLEARLY, Jonah is (thankfully) not ending up with her but with Bianca (i've read enough books to know what the author is doing. bring it on, Jessa: best friends, mafia heir x daughter of a politician? i'm sat. these two might be one of the two reasons why i will keep reading this series) Can you die from a broken heart, do you know? And if I did and they cut me wide open, would I bleed loving him? When they lift my heart out of my chest cavity to weigh it, does it weigh the same as his top lip? Is his name carved into my third rib to the left? Bone of my bones, flesh of my flesh. He's killing me. Loving him is killing me too, and I'm afraid because how many loves really, do you get in a lifetime? How many chances do you give it before you let it go?” Everything gets more complicated when beautiful, broken-hearted socialite Magnolia Parks enters the scene and Julian finds himself entangled with her. Because for Julian, falling in love isn’t just unwelcome – it could be deadly for everyone involved . . .

the harry styles lyric “theres never been someone whos so perfect for me” springs to mind when i think about this couple. Magnolia. oh, she got butchered in this book. for the first time EVER!!! she did not get on my nerves and she was actually kind of bearable sometimes, considering that in the other books this girl was a master manipulator that somehow managed to ruin the life of every single friend she's ever had. Raised by her older brother Julian since their parents were murdered, Daisy has never been able to escape the watchful gaze of her gang-lord brother. But Julian's line of work means that Daisy's life is... complicated. let's hope MP3 gives me some decent crumbs before we can finally move on to the real stars of the series: DH3 and DH4.Daisy - Oh Daisy. I don't know what you did to upset this author but you better get on your knees and beg for forgiveness because it is very clear this author is holding a grudge. Imagine being sidlined in a book that has your name on it. Never in my life have I seen an author be this biased against one of THEIR main characters and so blatantly obvious about it. I truly don't understand why she even bothered to give Daisy books because it's very clear her heart isn't in it. I mean all you have to do is look at that ugly cover she gave this book. Both Magnolia Parks books get a hand drawn cover and Daisy gets a badly photoshopped monstrosity. Although the statue is a Julian reference and the water lillies are for magnolia so maybe it's not Daisy's fault? Anyway, some parts of this book felt like a different Daisy than from book 1, especially when it came to the Tiller relationship. My heart absolutely breaks for her and I hate that we never seem to dive as deep into her trauma as we do with other characters. I know Daisy hated therapy, but she needs it. I'm also so mad that people keep making decisions for her, but we will get there. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it’s not proud. It doesn’t dishonour others, it’s not self-seeking, it’s not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. Christian… He‘s just amazing. He‘s such an interesting character and I wish we got to read more of and about him. Him and Daisy have my whole heart. They love each other so beautifully it broke my heart. We got so little of them I don’t even know what else to say. Their scenes were great and the way they talk about each other is just poetry. I had some expectations for this and none of them were met. Truly made me feel nothing, absolutely nothing. I hated how long they stayed together after Daisy realized they weren't gonna work. It was just annoying. The only good thing that came out of this relationship was the stand off in the bar. That was a great scene.

i said this before and i'm going to repeat it again: too tragic. this relationship was too much. why? because julian is getting a love interest and that girl could give him the moon and it still wouldn't mean anything because the author decided that he had to fall hopelessly in love with Magnolia and it ruined his character.my love’s DaisyChris deserve a whole ESSAY for how adorable they were — or would’ve been if we had more content of them just being cute *gets a murderous glint in eyes* — ugh there were two iconic scenes in this book and I loved them! 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 😭💗✨🤌 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐜 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞. I don’t understand why we were given so less of themmm!! it breaks my heart at the injustice of it all 😩

The #1 New York Timesbestselling and beloved Bellinger Sisters series from Tessa Bailey, now in a single volume!Magnolia aside, I didn‘t want to read about Julian falling in love. I liked this difference between Daisy and Julian regarding their love lives. And I just have to say… a meeting with the most dangerous men of the country in Julians house is unrealistic. Again, this shows that this whole book is based on Magnolia and Julian because what was the point of this scene? Correct, Julian falling in love with Magnolia. The bookstore be closed on November 1rst for the bank holiday. Operations will resume the following day. Julian. okay, i never really liked the man so the relationship between him and Magnolia was not going to affect my opinion of him in the slightest but GOD WAS HE ANNOYING THIS BOOK. I feel like Jessa Hastings had the beginning and the ending of the book and then just filled the rest with Magnolia and Julian.
