In April 2015, what appeared to be a white fox was captured (briefly and at distance) by a dashboard camera by a driver on an industrial estate in Poole, Dorset. Two white fox cubs were photographed by Holly Hadfield in her garden in Brixton, London during June 2015. (According to the Daily Mail article in which the photos appeared, the foxes were albino, but this is not certain from the images.) A silvery-white fox was photographed outside the offices of The Caterham and District Independent newspaper in Caterham, Surrey on 10th March 2016—the animal had a vaguely North American appearance, which suggested it may have been an escaped/released pet. There was also apparently a “leucistic fox” killed in North Wexford in Ireland in 2016, but going by the photo this was actually closer to being piebald and looked very much like an escaped/released pet. Later that same year, a white fox was caught on carnivore biologist Adele Brand's trailcam in Sussex. More recently, two white foxes were filmed by a man in Islington in London during 2019 and the most recent report I'm aware of was a cub videoed at an earth in Cornwall in May 2020. These pups are very active, and should only be placed with an active family. They have longer, furry and fluffy red coats that distinguish them from many other breeds. These adorably fluffy canines make great family pets, and get a long well with families and are great in multi-pet households. Since this dog is highly active, you may find yourself having trouble attending to their energy needs. Novice dog owners beware! Kelpies need at least 90 minutes of exercise every day, though they will probably be better occupied with a high intensity activity like running or playing fetch instead of a leisurely walk. Be sure to give them plenty of toys and games to play when they are at home, since they very much need the physical and mental stimulation. Thankfully, they only need a bath around two to three times a year, though you may need to bathe them more often if they are working on a farm where things can get smelly! Toy Poodles are usually less than a foot tall, and weigh 45 – 70lbs. But smaller size doesn’t mean less energy. In fact toy Poodles are incredibly lively little dogs. Did you know that Labrador Retrievers can have a red coat? That’s right, the most popular dog in the United States can have a red coat, and is known as the Fox Red Labrador. Sometimes known as a Ruby Lab, the Fox Red Lab cannot be registered with the AKC as “red” in color. They are considered a variant of the yellow coat color, and are registered as such. These dogs make poor guard dogs, because while they are large, they are too friendly for their own good! Despite all this, you must train them to behave as early as possible, as their playful antics can become obnoxious if not reined in properly. Being protective of their family, this breed can make a good watchdog as they bark to let you know if someone new is around. However, Irish Setters are prone to separation anxiety if left alone for too long, so always allow them to spend time with someone if you aren’t there with them. Often, treatment can be offered in the initial consultation, but in some cases your dog may require an anaesthetic for x-rays or surgery to remove a foreign object.
