The problem with Alice Coldbreath novels is that I am unable to do or think about anything else when I am in the middle of one. For all ebook purchases, you will be prompted to create an account or login with your existing HarperCollins username and password. Nearly killed while trying to win back his ancestral home, Black Richard MacCullough is left scarred and mangled; but some scars run far deeper than mere skin.

However, when he shows up on his wedding day and discovers that the woman behind the veil is actually the youngest daughter Aimee, he is shocked and has no idea how to react or what to feel. Not only that, he is on his way to rescue her from the collapse of their school under a mountain of debts. Some not all of the intimacy scenes drag to where I don’t feel what it means for the characters instead it becomes an awkward novelty. No surprise the heroine's name is Aimee, since at its heart this is a tale of a disfigured and isolated hero who learns to value the gift of love and friendship that's offered to him from not just his wife, but hither-to-ignored acquaintances and family. I had wanted the video to be aligned left (since most folks are right-handed) but it wasn’t an option.I didn't like how their first fight unfolded, it didn't feel consistent with either of their characters, and was maybe a bit suddenly over the top. One she had instilled in not just him but her household staff, her soldiers under her command as a general, and all his siblings. Also, related to the review, and most importantly: I have seen SO MANY people talking about how great Alice Coldbreath’s novels are, both on blogs and social media and on Reddit. Update: Was flipping through scenes in here as I was trying to find Jeffree and Sabina scenes as I was reading their book, and this book was hot.

SB Sarah: thank you—the video ads are no longer appearing on my iPhone (which is where I usually view the site). He's been in love with her forever though he can't even admit it to himself, and he shows his devotion with the old 'pigtails in the inkwell' type of tricks. Determined to find the man who ruined her sister and force him into matrimony at the point of a pistol, Lizzie Talbot hatches a plan to abduct the blackguard responsible. It’s mentioned several times throughout that Ursula is the oldest sister at 27, and Aimee is the youngest at 22.

We then move to familiar waters for Coldbreath readers; the grumpy husband and the naive wife trying to come to an accord in their marriage. I liked the end and the massages and I wish we'd gotten a little more of an outward demonstration of care from Konrad to Aimee. She was a strong character who went after what she wanted (in this case, marriage to Lord Kentigern), and she stuck with it even when things didn't turn out exactly like she thought they would. That tended to keep Aimee and Konrad's story on the back burner at times, and I like having the main couple being front and center. Hero may have been oblivious, but he had some shockingly dirty lines come out of his mouth for someone who didn't want to Fall In Love. Her Bridegroom Bought and Paid For is a stand-alone novel of over 126,000 words and is set in a medieval style landscape in the fictional kingdom of Karadok. It’s a bit of a small detail, but the blurb says Aimee is the oldest daughter, which contradicts what the book says. Thrice wedded, but never bedded, Mathilde Martindale has long lived in the shadow of her indomitable mother, and meekly done as she was told.

The Favourite is a stand-alone novel of over 143,000 words and is set in a medieval style landscape in the fictional kingdom of Karadok. But when their convenient marriage leads to an accidental pregnancy, will Stephen propose a marriage to last a lifetime? My Opinion: Having read several of Alice Coldbreath’s other books and really loved them, I was so excited for the release of this one and I was sure I would love it.As soon as she caught her sister’s pet, Poppy swore she was going to alert the management of the Rutledge that Beatrix was harboring wild creatures in their family suite, which was definitely against . The first time I listened to her it was a total wtf moment, but I have now listened to lots of books narrated by her and I have a fondness for her very individual style.
