Although that the devices have not been the best, at least not to my expectation, but the customer service is very responsive and helpful. If I have to rate the devices and the customer service separately, I will give 3 1/2 to the devices and 4 1/2 to the customer service. I was having an eye on this for the longest time to get a better deal on that. I finally got it with so much excitement but soon I ended up with huge disappointment. Additional Storage - I put an old 500GB HDD I pulled from an old laptop into the Homebase3, and it worked without issues once it formatted the drive. It works exactly as advertised, storing the videos from paired devices. As mentioned earlier, if you want continuous 24/7 recording, it only works with wired cameras, and the Homebase3 itself must be connected via Ethernet (not Wifi). I only record events, which is fine for my purpose. I can now use my outdoor camera E200 without an SD card in it, which makes it much more practical (as previously, any intruder can just steal the camera along with the SD card and any recordings). To me, this feature alone makes the Homebase3 well worth it if you use any standalone cameras that rely on on-device/SD card recording. Adding “eufy HomeBase3” resolved the false/car detection which saved me a headache caused by the endless notifications but since then the cameras do not detect pets/animals at all.Second, if you're not first time user you need to remove all of your device & add them one by one to the new HB, which means going up the ladder again & again to scan the code on each device & also set all of your setting again. I did that with one cam & I was looking for the setting to shut off the alarm for days. I ended up returning it without even testing the detection & AI tech. I have a pair of Cam 2C pro which originally came with HomeBase2, later on added more devices to my home & was expecting to simply transfer all the devices to the new HB3 but that's not an option. Setup - The Homebase3 setup was painless following the simple instructions. I just want to note that you need an Ethernet connection to setup, but you can switch to Wifi once it has been setup if you want to locate the Homebase3 at a more convenient location. However, in Wifi mode, it will not support 24/7 continuous recording, only recording events. I had to re-pair the doorbell, which isn't too difficult. Just delete the Homebase2 entirely, and setup the doorbell again to the Homebase3. For the outdoor camera, I just have to enable "Edge" in the app and have it pair to the Homebase3.

Though it comes with 16GB of local storage, the HomeBase 3 features an expansion bay that can hold a HDD or SSD for up to 16TB of video storage, no cloud storage necessary. First of all, this HB3 is not wifi ready, so it needs to be plugged into the modem/router at all times so if you don't have enough ports there (which normally is the case) there's need for adapters, ...
