These stories have all the necessary ingredients to complement Bollywood, which is currently struggling to find refreshing content. However, in the past, there have been several adaptations of books into movies or web series that were terribly awful. The prime example being the TV series Chandrakanta, which failed to live up to the original novel of the same name. Couple of sore points - showing the female telecom company manager frequently was incongruous and also felt somewhat gratuitous. Her character felt like forcibly inserted in the script just to provide eye-candy. She was made to wear low-waist saree and shown repeatedly; which was unnecessary. Also the way that the crafty Chandan Mahto fell into Amit Lodha's trap in the end felt too easy. Another plot-hole (and a major one at that) is how the cops managed to record Chawanprash's wife professing her love to Chandan? Without making Chawanprash listen to that recording, it would have been impossible to convince him to testify against Chandan. An engineer, an IPS and a writer. Amit Lodha writes a gripping real-life tale of his experiences from Bihar. An exciting read! Must read for anyone who wants to be a civil service cadre, especially police. Apart from the story of catching the once most notorious criminal of Bihar, which was very thrilling actually, it depicts the life of a public servant in an engaging manner. He was sitting in his office and directing the entire show; but the actual catching of the gangster was done by his men. However certain amount of dramatization and exaggeration is to be expected when the book gets transformed into a series.
