Another issue I have with the book is that it was written like only one character could do an action at a time if that makes sense. I still, after reading 6 books in this overall Maze series, cannot for the life of me tell you what the villain's plans are or why they do what they do (and on occasion, what they're even doing).I don’t think many people realise that James Dashner had a career as an author years before the success of the Maze Runner (fun fact — it was published several years before making it onto the NYT Bestsellers list) but he sure did. I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore (Full disclosure: I dislike this author for reasons but do think the book is a good comp.
