We do not sell, nor does the Service provide any option to buy, any alcoholic products. Glenfarclas is arguably the example of a single malt that is known and loved inside whisky circles, while remaining largely unknown outside of them. I know very few Scotch enthusiasts who do not think well of the distillery and its products, and at the same time I have encountered very few casual drinkers, the sort who only dabble with Scotch, who have heard of them. The 10 year old expression in Glenfarclas’s stable of core expressions is, like nearly all of their whiskies, 100% matured in oloroso sherry casks. It is the distillery’s standard entry-level whisky and comes with a very affordable price tag.

The following indicators should be taken as only a guide and not a set of hard and fast rules. Some "premium" whiskeys really are quite terrible, while some mass market products are good enough to pour into a decanter and serve to the Duke of Edinburgh. A+: A masterpiece and one of the ten best whiskeys of its type. Above five stars. The Service has been prepared by us solely for information purposes to Members and the Service is based on information we consider reliable and we obtain the contents of the Service from a number of different third party sources (including Contributions), but we do not endorse, support, represent, warrant or guarantee the completeness, truthfulness, accuracy, or reliability of the Services and any information therein.

The name translates from Gaelic as “valley of green grass,” and the distillery erected in that verdant glen was founded in the 1830s. In 1865, John Grant bought it, and the distillery continues to be owned by his descendants to this day. Part of Glenfarclas’s charm, and what makes it such a fan favorite, is it’s long history as an independent operation. “Independent” does not mean “small,” however: the six stills at Glenfarclas are the biggest in Speyside. Nose: A good arrival for 40% ABV. Fruits and patisserie. Orchard apples and pears alongside some hints of pasty and light toffee. There’s a good slog of maltiness in here and a very light influence of sherry. An interesting wispy coastal breeze provides some salinity.Glenfarclas 10 year old is an entry-level expression, bottled at 40% abv, and often recommended as an affordable aperitif single malt.

Nothing in the Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or for death or personal injury resulting from gross negligence or willful misconduct by us. Taste: Stronger on the pastries now with pear tart and toffee covered red apples. Mossiness and soils run throughout and play nicely with the light fruity sherry-led inflections. Quite creamy and perfectly serviceable overall. You are responsible for all activities through your account. Disputes that cannot be settled over multiple drams of whisky shall be solely submitted to the court of Amsterdam, The Netherlands unless mandatory applicable law provides otherwise. The finish leaves a light, but still oily and tingly aftercoat. Lingering on the tongue is a peppery, oaky, and murky-sweet flavor, with light and lingering warmth.
