We have come across this before- they should not have told you it needed the "update" at all, the unit you have is technically faulty Im afraid. ( As you said, it cant be done without the remote anyway ) Installation sounded pretty simple, it pretty much plugs and plays into the parrot bluebox and then you take the Can High and low cables and put them to pins 9 and 10. Apparently they are colour matched anyway so no problems figuring out which way round! Some early versions of the MKi9200 will require an interim update to V1.96 to be performed first, so you will need this file and also V2.11 or V2.20. If your software version is V1.95 or less you MUST update to V1.96 first. From version 2.00 software the MKi series support “multipoint”– this allows the connection of 2 phones at the same time and is enabled in the Bluetooth settings.
