Description

Almost all the components on your headphones can be replaced and repaired if something goes wrong. This is one of the factors that add to the value you’re getting from the Sennheiser HD 25 in a standard audio environment.

originally got these strictly for Dj'ing. Been using them for almost a year for that. Never listened to music on them really. They are great DJ headphones. It’s also worth giving a shout-out to the Sennheiser’s unique design, which allows you to flip the left can off completely when you’re in the booth, or just swivel the cups according to your needs. Specifications Cable Length The headset only weighs about 16g. In your hand, the mostly plastic design feels more like a toy than a professional-grade headset. Widely regarded to be the top choice for DJs, the HD25’s headphones are the benchmark to beat in the audio world.

Customer reviews

The sound quality of the Sennheiser HD25 headphones is one of the better-known features among professionals. It’s only after you use the HD 25 headset for a while that you discover just how amazing they are. The plastic really won’t break – no matter how much you bend or bash it. The first thing to do is ensure that you have the audio plug of the headphones connected securely into the audio device. A properly connected cable should not wiggle. If the plug wiggles that could indicate a loose connection. NOTE: This could be a result of the cable not being plugged all the way in or it could be a faulty input or sometimes if the device you are connecting to has a case on it the case will prevent the cable plugging in correctly. There’s no shortage in the treble, and no sibilance, despite the bright performance. Imaging is also ideal, and it’s easy to distinguish between different sounds and instrumentation in more complex music. Surprisingly, though these headsets are some of the most popular in the world for DJs, they’ve never been the most comfortable.

Created with a focus on exceptional performance, the HD25 headphones are unlike anything else on the market.

Sennheiser offers a range of “extras” that you can buy for your HD 25 headset, including extra foam disks for your earpads and cable clamping sets for DJs. Notable design decisions include the return of the sturdy steel cable which far beats the flimsy cables of the Amperior. The pads are also very much improved. Rather than the soft but brittle alcantara soft leather, Sennheiser now uses a much better quality, softer faux leather than the one found in the standard HD25-1. Likewise the headband pads also use the same leather. For those who upgrade to the 25 Plus, there’s the option to access extra cables, ear pads, and a bonus carry pouch. Build Quality Since 1982, PCMag has tested and rated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions. See how we test. The next variant is the Standard HD 25. This version has a swiveling ear cup, single-sided cable plus split headband. This version is the perfect balance between the cheap Light model and the more expensive top-of-the-line HD 25 Plus. This deluxe version is identical to the middle model but comes with an extra cable, spare earpads and a pouch to store the headphones in. For most people, the middle variant probably offers the best value for money.

The sound quality and durability of these headphones outweigh any other negatives you can think of. Ask most DJs and audio professionals and they’ll tell you that any true expert will have a set of HD 25s in their tool kit. Once again, although the comfort of the Sennheiser HD25 headset isn’t ideal in general, you’re likely to face additional discomfort when messing with the cans. Pros and Cons Another bonus of the HD 25 headphones is how easy they are to use. As with most headphones in the modern market, the better your audio source, the better your headphones are going to sound. When you pair your headset with an entry-level device (from an audio perspective), like a cheap digital player, or cell phone, you’re not going to get the best results. At first glance, it’s easy to be bewildered by the sheer amount of love and attention these headphones get. So as a conclusion we can state the MD 421 has no maximum SPL limitations for practical use. However if using dynamic microphones at high SPL levels a user should be aware that the very high voltage (up to several volts) delivered by the microphone might cause problems when connected to mic preamps. Market-leading studio headphones delivering great sound, sumptuous comfort and a well-balanced response. The styling of the headphones is very understated in the modern age. It’s a good-looking headphone but is certainly not a designer headphone. It follows an ethos of form over function and to many this may seem a little boring.

Notably, the channel balance in these headphones is good, but you do need to ensure that you’ve got the position of the cans just right over your ears. While they look fine, and they’ve got the added bonus of the Sennheiser brand, they don’t look like much. The issue with on-ear headsets is that it’s easy for frequencies to bash against the insides of the ears. If the headphones have sound in only one ear or differing sound levels in each ear or the sound in general is not what you expected then it needs to be determined where the issue lies - with the headphones or with the audio source. Though the HD25 headphones are lightweight, they’re surprisingly capable of holding up to all kinds of situations. Today, there are currently 3 versions of the HD 25 headsets on the market, including:These were my first DJ headphones. They are virtually weightless and extremely flexible. I could wear them a couple of hours at a time and not be in agony. Even, clear sound - not the bassiest choice you can make for sound though.
