Built-in porches like this are perfect for family camping. They provide a wet-dry zone. Moving to the inside, first off there is a sewn in ground sheep right through the tent. So if the weather in wet/windy and you need to hunker down inside, there won’t be any draughts or drips. Leave your boots and the mud outside along with the creepy crawlies too. I would suggest that with this configuration there’s enough room for some furniture (table, lamp etc.) if that’s your bag. This space swallowed up our large double Self Inflating Mat (SIM) and super large/comfy double sleeping bag. The tent is a 3-room structure. At the front there’s a large door and over the top is a decent sized poled sun/rain canopy which also has sides expanding down to the floor. The canopy did give us some shelter from the hot sun as we sat outside the Meadowood Air 4 in the baking July sun. I’m sure it would help keep the rain off us and the front door had there been any sign of any wet stuff. As the title suggests, the Meadowood 4 does have room for sleeping 4 people. Sleeping in 2 rooms, equally split, the dividing wall can be removed to make a bigger single sleeping area. My only (small) criticism is that I would love tent brands (not just Coleman) to design their bedroom pods so that dividing walls can be repositioned and not just taken down. Making this tent sleep 3 with a divider that could give a 70/30 split would be a handy feature and ideal for parents with 1 child who wants their own room/space. div>
