Fitbit says Google Wallet and Google Map integration will be available soon on the Fitbit Versa 4. Since these are not currently out, I was unable to test them, and there is not yet a specific release date. In the meantime, you can use the FitBit Pay app as a wallet until then. Watch band The Apple Watch SE and Garmin Venu 2 Sq have better heart rate sensors based on our testing. However, we’re glad to see some progress does seem to have been made since the last generation. The Versa 4 HR sensor didn’t lose the plot completely at any point. Whether you are just looking to give your Fitbit Strap a makeover or you are just in the market for a fresh colour to match up nicely with one of your outfits, you'll always find it at Fitstraps. Whether you favour the more classic silicone look for sports, Milanese metallic looks or a slightly more formal leather look, you can always get the best look for your Fitbit Versa 4 band with us. With the biggest and most exciting selection of Fitbit Straps than you will find anywhere else online, Fitstraps is the only place you ever need to look.

Note: This step-by-step guide is also applicable to the Versa 3 and Fitbit Sense. However, the wristbands for the Versa 3 and Sense are NOT compatible with the Versa 4 and Sense 2. How to change Fitbit Inspire strap Sensors-wise, you’re getting Fitbit’s PurePulse optical heart rate sensor technology, which can deliver continuous and heart rate data, though it’s not the most spotless and accurate sensor in my testing, particularly when it comes to putting it to the high intensity test where it was at times 8-10bpm out for maximum heart rate readings against a heart rate monitor chest strap. You can’t connect an external heart rate monitor to improve performance during exercise either. Similar to Fitbit’s Sense 2 and Charge 5, the Versa 4 has its own integrated GPS. This means you don’t have to run with your phone if you don’t want to.

Stay on top of your fitness and get better results from your routine with Fitbit Versa 4 by Google. The Fitbit approach to exercise is also pretty light. For example, by default, the Versa 4 buzzes you with the vibration motor when you go from one heart rate zone into another, even if you’re out for a run rather than in a gym class. The runner’s watch standard is to show a performance update at each kilometer or mile, so the Versa 4 approach doesn’t provide that important sense of structure.

Everything the Fitbit Versa 4 does looks great on the bright AMOLED touch screen. With hundreds of available watch faces, pretty much anyone should be able to find something they’ll really like. Any questions requiring answers will be responded to both in text form on-screen, and in voice through the Versa 4’s speaker using voice synthesis. This is pretty neat, although the quality of the speaker is poor. It’s quiet and manages to distort very obviously even at this low volume, like the output of one of those musical birthday cards. Fitbit has added a physical button to the Versa 4, where the Versa 3 uses a really quite annoying capacitive panel. The new button feels a little cheap, perhaps because where the casing has a lovely anodized finish, the button is glossy. I initially thought it might even be plastic. It isn’t. It’s metal. Still, having a physical button is far preferable to a capacitive one. There are some significant downgrades to the Fitbit Versa 4 over the Versa 3, with many features having now been removed. I was bummed to see the removal of snore and noise detection. But the removal of Google Voice instead of Alexa is just straight-up bewildering. Missing third-party apps and music supportYou’ll notice the Versa 4 / and Sense 2 are equipped with a button. Press this button to release the strap. Users swipe up to adjust settings, swipe down to see notifications, and swipe left or right to cycle through various tiles, like weather, exercise selection, your primary goal (set up via the app),sleep score, and more. Something I really appreciate here is the new heart rate tile, showing you the past few hours of your heart rate history. Your primary goal can be switched via the app. Screen For example, when putting together the review for the FitbitSense 2, I was up pretty late and didn’t get much sleep. Fitbit gave me a score of 71 out of 100… and a readiness score of 68, which it says is excellent. I felt beat up and far from excellent. After 3.5 hours of sleep, I definitely did not feel like I had excellent readiness. Bluetooth and sync range

The Fitbit Versa 4 does not get WearOS, the smartwatch platform of its owner Google. However, the classic Fitbit OS interface has been redesigned to bring it in closer alignment with Google’s new house style. The recurring issue this time is an overly steep heart rate spike during early exertion in each workout. It often overestimates your heart rate, before coming down to a more realistic level. In sessions of moderation exertion, this can throw off the maximum heart rate for the entire session. However, there’s one area you have to appreciate in these superficially smart watches, like those of Garmin and, from a different angle, Huawei. They always get you much better battery life than an Apple Watch or WearOS watch. The Health Metrics dashboard and the metrics displayed in the dashboard are not available in all countries. This feature is not intended to diagnose or treat any medical condition and should not be relied on for any medical purposes. It is intended to provide information that can help you manage your well-being. It also benefits from the new-look software UI that feels more in line with what comes running on Google’s WearOS. It’s still very much FitbitOS in look and feel, but there are definitely some similarities here. With very little really changing here, it’s no surprise to find that battery performance hasn’t really changed. You can get over six days and I have often found it’s good for a whole week. Switch the AMOLED screen to always-on and it’s half that time. Throw in some GPS time and that will noticeably eat into that battery as well. Varies with use and other factors. Up to 12 hours with continuous GPS. Get 24 hours of charge with 12 minutes of charging.
