I was planning on writing another review tonight, about a serial killer thriller I finished a week ago, but then I watched ‘Sunshine’ [1973] and I cannot think of anything else.

I have no ide Rad and Stevens did an excellent job with the writing. My only complaint about this book is the quality. While the cover is lovely and eye catching, including the fact that this is a Christian book would be helpful to the reader. As an adult women, I find joy in the details. The paper used for this book is thin and feels rough. For a book of this type, I would expect a nicer quality, glossy finish paper. I often reread books of this type or gift them to friends who might benefit. This book doesn't feel like it would last the test of time, nor is it giftable from a physical quality standpoint.

Characters are also brilliantly portrayed, full of subtlety and ambiguity. Rae is very easy to like. Her seemingly simple life as a baker (yes, the descriptions of her baking are mouth-watering!) transforms into something else but nothing is as what it seems. Adult vampire urban fantasy. Sunshine lives in an alternate post-apocalyptic world in which Others - vampires, weres, demons and angels - are accepted and everywhere. We don't see any angels, mind you. This one's all about the horror. Sunshine herself lives an ordinary life working in her step dad's cafe, until she does something stupid and gets herself captured by the 'darkest' of the Others: vampires. Seriously messed up psychopathic supervillains. Sunshine finds out a few things about herself, and forges an alliance with somebody she shouldn't even be able to look at, let alone develop feelings for. But instead of the shadow of death, Jarrett found something else at Camp Sunshine: the hope and determination that gets people through the most troubled of times. Not only was he subject to some of the usual rituals that come with being a camp counselor (wilderness challenges, spooky campfire stories, an extremely stinky mascot costume), but he also got a chance to meet some extraordinary kids facing extraordinary circumstances. He learned about the captivity of illness, for sure but he also learned about the freedom a safe space can bring. Well, in this book the main character has sex with her long time boyfriend and it's a sweet nonevent - these positive and healthy examples of sex are good! Can we have more caring and loving and healthy relationships displayed for our youth like this, please? What i read through out this book is that they are not just trying to guide you through one thing in life, they are wanting to hit every part of your life with growth. From your inner happiness and to work as well as your dreams, They also mention you changing lives of others not in a selfish way but being there for those who need us.

I loved the tone and intention of this endeavor. It’s not perfect, but it’s a valiant effort. I’m sure I’d highlight lots if I got my hands on a print copy of this devo, and it might be something I’d point my daughter to use. V. Do we let negativity be our default too much and not put out enough energy into spreading positivity. So you have a baker who finds herself chained up in a room with a vampire and they escape their captors due to some spoilery magic stuff. Over the course of the book they awkwardly bond and perhaps even grow to have a romantic relationship at some point. I'm completely unsure about that last part because while she is apparently attracted to him at times, she describes him as ugly. Usually, if you're interested in someone romantically, you don't personally find them repulsive. Just saying. This book is on the religious side which I didn’t realize but it was something I throughly enjoyed. Each day (chapter) includes a key Bible verse, a personal inspiring story by Tanya or Raquelle, a prayer, and practical tips on how to apply the help on the topic to one’s daily life. They touch upon many important issues in ways that are easy to understand and are engaging. And it’s not an in depth Bible study, more so their positive approach to living a life of joy. Yes, there is some celebrity name dropping, but to me it doesn’t come off as cheesy or showy, it’s just their lives. I didn’t agree with everything they said, but I thought they made some interesting, thoughtful points.

I liked the premise of 'Death In The Sunshine'. I was hoping for an American twist on Richard Osman's 'The Thursday Murder Club'. In terms of the situation, there are a lot of similarities but the way the story is written is quite different.

Sunshine isn't my jam, but I can't in good conscience say that it is badly written. Ten billion fans of this author's work can't all be wrong. It just isn't the type of story I personally enjoy. I'm fine with characters with flaws, but not when there isn't anything else to like about them. Death can bring out the worse in people, and boy does it do that here. Kate doesn't give amputating her leg a real consideration...because she doesn't want her daughter to have a one-legged mother? No mother is better? Her daughter's father shows up for five minutes, growls, and inexplicably disappears. Her new husband Sam's patience eventually wears thin, and he goes off and leaves his adopted daughter for a bit when the going gets rough. Everyone makes big grandiose statements about looking out for Kate's little girl, Jill, but then go and do whatever gives them some short term satisfaction. The foreword was written by Selena Gomez. Selena is a good friend to both authors Tanya and Raquelle. Both the foreword and the introductions to the authors really sets the tone of the book. Aimil: librarian, long-time friend of Sunshine's. It is revealed that she's been part-time with the SOF for 20 months. Also a partblood.

What about the reasons behind her mother's decision to leave her father and basically go into hiding? Sunshine act as an agent providing a web search interface between you and various third party suppliers Beauregard ("Bo"): Sunshine and Constantine's mutual enemy. He is a vampire and Constantine's contemporary, and runs a large gang, which is how he captured Sunshine. The plot: unfocused, slow. It has a few exciting hot spots, spaced widely apart. The end is anti-climatic and doesn't feel worth all the build up. I wasn't thrilled with all the time she spent world-building, which didn't seem to make sense for a standalone novel in which most of that information would never be used or heard from again. The ending of the book is predictable. The bad bf is gone, after admitting to screwing 10 or 15 other women whom he likes degrading with acts that he would never do to the woman he loves and wants to be his future wife. A billionaire takes her out to lunch, and handily her solicitor (lawyer) is in the same restaurant and they decide to open their own club so that Sunshine and her friends will not be bullied by the managers at the, presently, only upscale club in town. Meanwhile Sunshine quits and goes into an office job and now, respectable, means Orion the psychiatrist again and there they are lovey dovey, cuddled up under the duvet for a happily ever after. The End.

About the Book and Author / Artist

One of the favorite things i read in here is that she writes letters to her future husband. That is a fantastic idea i wish i would have done. In that day it was not all sunshine a rainbows, Things didn't go as planned and it doesn't have a happy ending there is no BS. That showed me that they are not trying to give us some false info to improve your life they are giving us their genuine selves and the writing shows. I’ve read several days of The Sunshine Mind and find it enjoyable. It’s a different kind of devotional where they are giving modern examples from their lives. Death in the Sunshine is a terrific cozy filled with murder, mayhem and mystery. Enough so that I am sure book two will continue to give us more information about the retirees’ past lives as they continue to try and enjoy The Homestead.
