In this case, Huawei's "dynamic" display setting switches from 1Hz to 120Hz to give you more chance of having your phone last throughout the day. Under our looped video test, on the dynamic setting, the P50 Pro's 4,360mAh battery lasted 17hrs 9mins, which is just slightly behind the OnePlus 9 Pro (17hrs and 32mins). For Smartwatches: lets you select a monthly Device Plan Credit Agreement (over 3-36 months) with a monthly Connectivity Plan. Watch Plans over 12 months require a 24 month Connectivity Plan. You can pay off your Device Plan early, and if you do, you can keep your Connectivity Plan on a 30-day contract or leave. If your Connectivity Plan ends, the Device Plan is still payable (either in full or monthly). Watch Plans require a Vodafone pay monthly airtime plan and a Connectivity Plan (via Vodafone OneNumber) Lasting 16hrs 47mins in our video rundown test at native 120Hz, last year’s model beats the P50 Pro by almost five hours in the same test. Drop the refresh rate to 60Hz and enable the “Smart Resolution” setting and you can almost squeeze out an extra two hours on a single charge (19hrs 39mins), but whichever setting you go for, neither result is particularly great. Huawei P50 Pro review: Software There are a number of reasons for the delay, including the global semiconductor shortage, which might also be the reason the handset is only 4G-enabled. But was it worth the wait? Huawei P50 Pro review: Design

Now onto the department Huawei phones are known for: their cameras. The standard P50 has three rear shooters, with a 50MP main, 12MP periscope zoom and 12MP ultra-wide snapper. That's a fair complement of cameras, with the periscope module supporting 5x optical zoom. When it comes to video capture, the P50 Pro can record up to 4K video at 60fps. Both the primary wide lens and the periscope telephoto lens have optical image stabilization, (OIS) but there is no such assistance for the ultra-wide lens. Moreover, the ultra-wide lens is capped at 4K 30fps. If you’re smooth with your movements and don’t switch lenses mid-recording, the video experience from the P50 Pro camera is good. But when you want to use multiple lenses, the transitions are jagged and rough. It wasn’t long ago Huawei was telling us we need 5G to live our best mobile lives, and this missing feature impacts the future-proofing of Huawei’s new flagship. Neither of these phones has a particularly huge battery by modern standards. The Huawei P50 Pro has the larger cell of the two at 4,360mAh, while the Huawei P40 Pro's battery is a mere 4,200mAh. This all means that the P50 Pro is a serious hardware treat with some massive experience clangers, despite Huawei’s best efforts.A spokesperson for Huawei told TechRadar, "For reasons that are known to everyone, Huawei is left with no option but launch 4G variants for Huawei P50 Series." Where the Huawei P50 Pro really shines is photography, which isn’t surprising as Huawei has long been at the forefront of mobile photography, especially with its P series. The main camera on the Huawei P50 Pro is fantastic, and capable of capturing brilliant shots in any lighting conditions. We were, however, slightly disappointed with the ultrawide and telephoto cameras, which don’t offer the best color fidelity compared to the primary shooter. Color reproduction is excellent, and the OLED screen is great for watching movies and videos on. Huawei has also increased the refresh rate to 120Hz, up from 90Hz on the P40 Pro, which makes navigating the UI or scrolling through apps super-smooth. You can set the refresh rate to Dynamic, which adjusts the refresh rate depending on what you’re doing on your phone, to save battery life, but you’ll get the smoothest all-round experience by setting it to High. Specs and performance W is the maximum charging power, and can only be reached when the dedicated 66 W HUAWEI SuperCharge charger and cable are used. Typical value. The Battery Rated Capacity is 4,260 mAh. Based on results from HUAWEI Lab tests. Actual battery life depends on actual usage conditions.

For those that use other Huawei hardware, such as its laptops and tablets, the P50 Pro has a new feature you might just love. This is Super Device, which is a type of Bluetooth-based screen sharing software that transports your phone's UI onto another device. Huawei P50 Pro review: Camera(s) Huawei’s ultra-wide camera doubles up as a macro camera for super close-up shots, while also grabbing entire scenes at an expansive 13mm focal length. It does a great job in well-lit environments, though falls down in the dark, even with night mode fired up.

The Huawei P50 Pro Mobile Phone features a 6.6 inches OLED display with a screen resolution of 1228 x 2700 Pixels and runs on HarmonyOS 2.0 Operating System. The Smart Phone is powered by Octa-core processor and Qualcomm chipset. It has 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB Built-in storage and 8 GB / 12 GB RAM. The Huawei P50 Pro runs HarmonyOS 2.0 and is powered by a 4360mAh Non-Removable Li-Po battery.

Partying like it’s 2018, we have a high-priced flagship that’s unable to connect to the 5G network in the UK. Why Huawei stripped the P50 Pro of its 5G capabilities is anyone’s guess, especially when the previous P40 Pro (which launched in 2019) didn’t have such restrictions. It’s utterly bizarre. However, as you might have spotted in the above graphs, the iPhone 13 Pro remains the performance champion in the early stages of 2022. Roughly 42% faster than the P50 Pro’s CPU speeds, with an increase of 110% in the off-screen graphics benchmark, the iPhone 13 Pro is the flagship to buy if you’re hoping to push your phone to its limits.
