A client lens for me is the best lens I can use which normally means sharp but pretty photos. For my Leica wedding photography I really enjoy the Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f1.2 lens for example. See below for that and more 35mm lens options. Assuming, however, that I won’t be protesting anytime soon, I will be looking at it sitting on my shelf thinking that if you or anyone you know are turning your nose up at this lens because it was made in China, you need to be a better person than I was and stop acting like a pig like I did.

When I first received the lens my initial impression was very very very good. It came in a very nice leather storage box, with a hidden compartment in the lid for an SD card! Indeed a very nice first impression upon unboxing this lens. I also noticed that the 7artisans lens has a narrower field of view and is probably more like a 40mm focal length. Leica is a Rip Off! Period! I’ve been working with them since 1999 when there were still real photographers out there and leica products were reachable. Until these Mid-Life Crisis Millionaire Wannabes caused prices of leica products into the stratosphere. When I first held this lens, my lizard brain screamed, “this thing has serious build quality. It is heavy. Holy cow that aperture ring is sweeet. The tabbed focusing ring is as smooth as anything in that closet of yours downstairs. Build quality = good. Hey buddy, so much for that “you get what you pay for” nonsense you have been talking about for 30 years.” I told my lizard brain to shut the hell up and stop getting in the way of my objectivity. ZoomConsultations/ Mentor– Not sure what camera or lens to buy or need help with your photography? Act today and book a 1:1 Zoom call! The images that I shoot with the 7artisans are different, they’re unique, they’re me. And that is much more important to me than ultimate image quality.

The EXIF in all of my photos show Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH lens because the 7Artisans 35mm f/2 lens is 6-bit coded as the Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH. Performance according to specs isn’t great, but the lens has some very beautiful character, especially wide open. So far, this is my favorite 7Artisans lens and it’s a lot of fun to use! I haven’t tried this brand lens yet. I do however have and use the Voightlander 35mm f/1.2 full frame in Leica M mount. I love it! I have the Kamlan 50mm f/1.1 lens in Sony E mount. I also have the 7 Artisans 50mm f/1.1 lens in Leica M mount. This is another fine lens. My least used but fine lens in Sony E mount but in APSC coverage is the 35mm f/.095 lens. With this one you can literally see in the dark.Well, where to start? Optically, the 7Artisans 35mm f/1.2 is far from perfect. You’d be mad to expect it to be perfect at this price point/size/specification. In fact, in some ways it’s a little crazy. Flare The 7Artisans 35mm f/2 lens comes with two lens caps and a small screwdriver for focus adjustment (I have not tried it, my focusing seems to be spot on):
