We speak of revolutions against the system and for some, that night in 2012 represented just that, but for others it was just tomorrow’s fish and chips wrapping. Peter H from LeedsJohn Smeaton was one of the founders of Leeds Grammar School and has 'Smeaton House' at the school named after him. The climax of the features the band performing on the stage of a crowded replica of The Globe Theatre.

Young people felt that what happened in 2011 wasn’t new, for them riots always happen – they told me gang wars, gun wars and cycles of abuse always are taking place. John Smeaton was a civil engineer, born in 1724, who is known for his design of canals, harbours and lighthouses. We did the section where the vocals build up because, when we started out, our sets only lasted 25 minutes so we knew that’s how long we had to get people’s attention. Fractionalized civic and political opinion divide and run riot now in our country, our city and our streets. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022.

Portraying a rowdy night out in their native Leeds with members from the former band Black Wire, "I Predict a Riot" is one of the group's signature songs. Truckin'" was written as the Grateful Dead were starting their long, strange trip, settling into a life of constant touring. I Predict a Riot" is a song by English indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs, appearing on their debut album, Employment (2005).How can we listen better, whether to the Kaiser Chiefs or each other, and empower our voices and not tear gas, batons and fists? While in part it can be seen as a word for someone who hails from Leeds, it's more of a mock-classical term reserved for local sports clubs. So, we've gone back to that on this record, which is don't worry about the outside world; be yourself, and the rest will fall into place.
